Saw a comment on a Reddit post from a Miami Heat fan the other day. They were kinda laughing at the idea of Nunn getting paid $5 million to rehab in LA. Seemed to be implying that he had been playing through a lot of injuries already while in Miami, and there was a sense that he’s damaged goods. Their tone was almost as if Nunn finessed the Lakers. Of course, that’s just some random dude on Reddit, and this is me paraphrasing a post that I could even be misremembering the details of. So take this with a grain of salt. But with how strange this bone bruise has been, it sounds plausible. Curious if there has been an actual documented trail of injury history with Nunn that we just overlooked?
he played in almost all games in his rookie year (if i have the numbers right) and 56/72 in his second year. it's possible miami let him walk because he'd shown signs of durability issues, but they definitely weren't glaring.
Man, looked e see the difference DJ has made in a such a limited amount of time he's been with the Lakers. Nunn is a better player. What a big miss. Hoping he is healthy and ready next year.
Better, unquestionably. Smarter? Probably not. DJ really understands everything going on both on/off the ball offensively. Pacing, tempo, lanes, open spots. He's been enjoyable to watch on that side. And his 3 ball has been ridiculous. I picture Nunn morso filling in the DS role without ego and less D.
How does anyone go out this long on a bone bruise? Only thought that comes to mind is he kept reinjuring it during the year coming back too early. I can remember guys being out a few months on a bone bruise and even that was considered long. This is like ACL or Achilles-type time off.
