Didn’t Nunn originally get sidelined by a knee bone bruise? It seems like an unnaturally long time for this injury to heal. I mean, it’s been 4 months already. By comparison, I’m currently watch Cam Akers play a NFL football game after tearing his Achilles 6 months ago. Although that’s a freakish recovery that’s normally unheard of, we are talking about a bone bruise where no surgery was required for Nunn.
Severe bone bruises I’ve read kind of honeycomb areas of the bone which takes a long time to be solid and strong again. Painful and chance of even more severe damage to the area. Yeah Akers’s recovery is amazing. Was that a complete rupture or just a partial tear?
Kam bros had a good point, this is like when we gave our MLE to McKie expecting him to be our starting PG and he barely played. But at least with AM, he's older so you half expect injuries. Didn't see this coming with Nunn.
yeah, can't fault the front office here. no sign that our biggest FA acquisition would be completely unable to go at all. and such a weird injury--like, did anything even happen? if not, is this guy going to play basketball ever again? how often has a bone bruise on a non-contact injury that didn't require surgery led to 6 months on the shelf? is he going to need microfracture or whatever they're doing instead of that now?
“Microfracture” …. wow there’s a term I haven’t heard in awhile. Forgot what they do and what they do it for.
usually when there's not enough cartilage in a given area. it seemed barbaric to me, and you never hear about it anymore, so maybe there's a new procedure that accomplishes something similar.
Ahh … that’s right the knee cartilage thing. It has been awhile. Players moved on to the next big thing …. rupturing their achilles tendons.
It’s really sad that he had to post this, he’s likely getting tons of hate comments and such for something out of his control
some players have given us good effort he has given us nunn but his public acknowledgement of fans' disappointment is commendable. He wants to be here.
The Chicago Bulls announced yesterday that Alex Caruso will miss the next 6-8 weeks with a fractured wrist, which he injured because Grayson Allan gave him a flagarent foul where he fouled Caruso while he was in the air for a dunk. Question is, who do you think will come back from injury and play a NBA game first? Caruso or Nunn?
