its not a slump, he changed his game up to deal with the turn over so now he's has no clue how to adjust on offense....he was never good from the perimeter, his fg% being moderately decent was because of his drive ins for layups. I see some hoping he'd progress like jkidd, but jkidd was steadily improving his 3pt shoot year over yr, russ on other hand not so much, hes actually going backwards in that department

I'm watching his post game interview right now. I can't remember the last time he was this engaged in answering questions from the media.

He might be understanding he needs to adjust something before it gets to the point where a playoff spot is an issue.

Maybe if we actually had an “offensive system,” he could learn to fit into it. All I see is a bunch of one on one ball, mixed with an occasional pick, and less occasional PnR when Dwight plays.

they had cut the lead down to 6 before he took a stupid a** 3 and in a matter of seconds the kings were back up by 11

it's time to move on from this disaster. he was a bad fit from the start and it's not like he's suddenly going to return to form and fit in well with lebron

The only way he even considers not opting in is if he is relegated to the second unit.
I think his ego couldn’t handle it.
I actually do feel sorry for the guy.

What made it worse, is Reeves had just made two threes and was hot. Russ had missed almost every shot he took. The ball was in his hands to decide who should take the next crucial shot. He took it and bricked it.

Just some buzz on NBA/Lakers twitter about a Russ/Wall swap and giving the Rockets the 2027 1st rounder

I think its worth a gamble. Wall has been getting the Dwight/Melo treatment and might just play within himself and play smarter. Then Lakers don't have to feel guilty about benching Wall either you can just roll with

    Reaves, Monk, Bradley, AD, Bron
Wall or Nunn, THT, Ariza, Melo, Dwight

If it doesn't work out this year you still have young guys to develop and you have Wall's $47 mil expiring this summer to improve for Lebron's last year with the Lakers.

This is par for the course for Westbrook. He may be down a few assists, rebounds and points from the Wizards but he has fewer touches and attempts. His efficiency is the same. His turnovers are right at career average and on par with recent seasons. Sure he scored more in Houston on 6.3 more attempts and he shot 3's at a 25% clip. Just eliminating his 3-point shooting gives us 3 more points a game. Everything he is doing is on par with previous seasons. If LBJ weren't around and RW got more touches he'd be averaging a trip-dub again and we would lose even more games.

This moron lost the game for us with his basketball dumbness and his ego clearly ahead in priority over “every player all in team first” to best help winning games. Twice in the 4th quarter, basically all crunch time since we were behind, but he really put the nails in our coffin with the 2nd time …. Reaves was playing great and clutch and had just hit multiple 3 pointers and the Lakers had great momentum. Twice those runs AR gave us closed our deficit to 2 possessions. And twice this selfish moron had to come down and insert himself back in the spotlight and instead as usual clank shots. Real bricks. Which gave them the ball and Sac twice ran their leads right back up. He should be ripped a new one while watching tape on this game with the team and staff. Blatant selfish and stupid basketball play. Twice he could have gotten the ball to either Monk who was also red hot, or to Reaves who was THE player spearheading both of those rallies.

The 3pts attempt down 4 just after Fox hit a midrange over Lebron is the exact reason why the Lakers will be a very quick exit in the playoffs .

Watching Westbrook on one end and Buddy on the other makes me wish the off-season turned out slightly different.

Yeah we aren’t winning anything this year folks, and this guy is THE reason why. No advanced stats, no sunshine and rainbows glass half full optimism will tell me otherwise. His contract cost us having to fill the team with minimums, and trading away our most competent role players/losing our best one in free agency. I’m done.

    Let’s not fool ourselves here.

    this is all Westbrook.

The turn overs and his shot selection are all horrible.

backing down posting up when u have lebron and melo and ad (when he wasn’t injured) and still not passing it out after drawing the double.

That’s insane and it’s clear after 3 franchises he’s not going to change nor does he has the IQ or the skill set.

Lol his shooting woes are all on him his shot attempts/finishes are worse than g league material.

We’re the purple and gold, I don’t believe we should ever tank because we have class and integrity.

We need to show class and put WB in the doghouse and ride out the seasons s best was we can. This is just insane.
