2nd in scoring. 0.6 points away from being the NBA scoring leader and closing in fast.
8th in Steals (37 years old 260lbs wtf?)
    17th in Assists
    21st in Blocks
    39th in Rebounds

    Not bad old dog.

didn't see the game, but lebron getting a double-digit lead then settling for jumpers has been sort of a staple in our s***tiness.

Lebron, as good as he is, and as "smart" sure makes stupid decisions alot during games.

Lakers were up 14 towards the end of the 2nd and then the Lakers went iso and 3 pt shot happy. Completely killed them and they never recovered.

Yeah I posted on Twitter that I can't recall a game in which he more nonchalantly settled in consecutive possessions. Our garbage defense made the offensive possessions that much more important, yet Lebron just chucked. It was bizarre.

    10-25 FG 2-13 3pt
    12-26 FG 3-10 3pt
    13-29 FG 3-12 3pt

The 3 games he's played against the Kings. Their size at forward and wings bother him. He's to slow to beat them off the dribble and not strong enough to bully them in the post.

He does it a lot. This isn't an isolated situation. Only justification is energy saving? The constant drives to the rim take a toll even if it's to pass it out to the open man. That part is what makes the Russell Westbrook situation worse because I thought he would be the guy to handle alot of that for LeBron.

He needs to rebound and defend better. His energy would be better spent doing that than trying to score 30pts every night, he's not helping himself and the team with the current strategy

yeah, i totally get why he settles for jumpers--and it's more than settling*: it's clear his plan to take a long lazy jumper in the hopes that it goes in and we can just get up 25 and run away with it. but it basically hasn't worked yet. work for the same shots that got us up 10 points. they weren't contested, off the dribble, 26 ft fades.

*to me, "settling" is attempting, being thwarted for some reason, then opting for the jumper. people get on AD for this, and i'd agree he settles (though in his case, often settling is better than turning it over or committing an offensive foul). when we get up, lebron isn't "settling", he's not even trying to get good shots.

It’s really hard for me to get down on a year 19 LeBron James scoring 30 regularly though. Like if we’re depending on him for defense heavily we’re already in trouble, dude can only do so much as this point. And you put Russ next to him with his nonexistent defense and it looks even worse, just a bad, bad pairing.

He looks like he's lost faith in this team. Too bad he played a big part in blowing up the quality team we had. No moves to be made either to salvage this. Might need to move him and AD this off-season for as much picks as possible and rebuild.

I can't accept that. Against poor competition and when things are going good he was putting in the effort just recently

He's simply being a frontrunner here. When things go south he will pout and won't put in the effort where it doesn't benefit him. Against bad teams he will flex his muscles but when he's getting out played like today he will ghost like Casper.

The Lakers have played only 5 games in 13 days including 2 in the last 6. He's had the time off too so I don't want to hear the tired legs excuse.

We have to call a spade a spade.

Its very interesting wherever he goes we quite often hear Lebron doesn't get enough help but he's been the common denominator in all those situations. Its pretty obvious this team is hell bent on pleasing Lebron...heck he's the Longest tenured Laker and this is only his 4th year! He has a lot of media people who have been carrying the water for him especially this year. He has been largely inconsistent with his defensive effort and its one of the biggest reasons why the Lakers are not at title contender last year and this year.

I don’t disagree, his defensive effort and whining to the refs is annoying as hell. All I meant was that I expected this at the end of his career, so it’s hard for me to really get too up or too down on LeBron, we know what he is. And yeah he’s had rest lately, but he’s old, NINETEEN years of regular seasons, 10 finals trips, multiple Olympics, that he’s even as good as he is right now is baffling. I can’t think of any player ever, and I personally never watched one in year 19 that was this good. Remember Kobe in year 19 and 20? Oof it was ugly, most of us probably block it from our memories except his last game. It’s likely LeBron tired himself out playing like he was in those clips, and then going on that tear of 30 point games, it’s probably a big part of why he’s settling for so many threes right now. I’m not excusing him, it just is what it is, it’s why we brought in Russ to help ease his offensive load, but man that’s been a massive failure.
