Dwight’s double double was huge tonight. Nice to see him out there again.

Would you be willing to make one of those up for Reaves?

doubtful given vogel's comments. it seems like this is a long haul strategy they're attempting to employ.

we were better when we were huge and couldn't shoot, tbh.

    Why?

22 min and zero points (0-2-1)

looks scrawny and needs a tanning bed

I only watched the first half. I didn’t see the impact, but seems like everyone likes him. 22 min isn’t bad.

+10 when he was on the floor too

No one looks for him enough on offense. It's like the game with 6 3s and the last second game winner never happened.

One of the few guys who bring the energy every game. It gets really infectious. Play him more.

Good on him staying ready. I'm not going to suggest we play him every night and I think he's best served as a dust off the shelf against real bigs, off the bench.

I think he can maintain that burst of play by not being an every night and closer to a once a week big.

    Supreme athleticism and strength.

Shame it took him nearly being out of the league to finally realize he's not an offensive weapon you can run an offense through.

He was incapable of learning anything from any of the great teachers he's worked with over the years, including Hakeem, and refused to develop a go to move that would age as his body and athleticism started to fail him. If he could've wrapped his head around defense, rebounding, hustle, clean up duty on offense, and the pesk role that he fills now... say 10 years ago, I think he'd be seen in such a better light league wide.

I think he should've been watching tape of Rodman. Obviously he can dunk and attack the rim in ways Rodman never could, but to me, that's the role he should've embraced and who he should've emulated. Instead of trying to be the next Shaq.

I'm surprised he's still so athletic, that back was repaired multiple times. Dudes an alien.

It's too bad Zion doesn't have Dwight's pride/will.. kids eating his career literally, sad. Needs a mentor like D12.

Zion with Dwight's work ethic in the gym would be an unstoppable force.

Yeah I forgot who the NBA guy who said it but the Shaq comparisons (Orlando #1, the lack of true centers) messed him up. He tried to be this back to the basket center cog with the Shaq feud on offense when his skillset should have been as maybe the greatest screener/rim runner of all time. OTOH it didn't help that Orlando never got him a great PG (Turkoglu was the best playmaker he had and it's not surprising that year with him he shined). Can you imagine a prime Dwight with a Chris Paul/Magic/Lebron archetype?

And it's not just the insane athleticism, he just has a knack for doing what a center should off ball which makes it even more frustrating that the coaches haven't been using him in that 20mpg backup role

yeah, even in his prime he never had any sort of post game and his footwork was always terrible. the 09 finals was really the first time i had ever watched him play closely and i remember being surprised at how bad his post game was. but he still managed to put up 20 a game for a few seasons there just by brute strength until his back gave out

but defensively and on the boards it was another story. guy was a monster
