Jeezus Rock why do you refuse to acknowledge that things all of a sudden at least look primed for an upward progression? The roster has just changed in a BIG way to allow Vogel to get our defense back to where it needs to be. And LeBron at the 5 when it makes sense (probably most of the time going forward with several exceptions of course) looks like a “cheat code” on offense, for him and for the team, to me anyway. Can you not get off the same thing you keep repeating based on a much more inferior roster we had to work with on Defense?

As for the barometer games coming up, we have the Grizz on the 9th, then the Nuggs on the 15th, and then the Jazz on the 17th. All are currently ahead of us in the standings and most likely we will see one of them in the POs. It would be nice to show out strong against all three and win at least two of these.

When AD comes back and the plan is still have Bron play Center. Then have AD play PF. But only and defense and play C on offense.

When you have multiple quality defenders return together it does change everything. I was impressed with the walls Stan, Trevor and Austin built. Others too. We were playing almost unwatchable ball the past couple weeks.

In the span of about 2 weeks Lebron has increased his 3pt% from 34% to a respectable 37.6%

That's on a high number of attempts too, averaging 8 a game.

Playing at C gives him slightly more space for his shot. The defender seems to sag off him a little because there is generally no one behind them if they get beat off the dribble. That yard or two is helping him just see the basket cleanly.

And these are difficult shots. He's not shooting Bradley or Ellington catch and shoots

Lebron is still an elite player at 37. That is simply a remarkable feat. I don't know when the decline is coming, stamina seemed to me to be the only concern, but he’s playing a lot of minutes too. Logic says, that this guy can't keep playing at this level for the rest of the season. Then again, with the amount of mileage on him already, he's proven to not be the normal human .

This last stretch gives me the confidence that come playoff time, LeBron will dominate. We just need the rest of the squad to help, make some moves and we can make a little noise.

44% for his last 84 attempts, you got to figure 20 of those are 4-5 ft behind the line and another 20 in the last few seconds of the shot clock

    Lebron has already declined.

His offensive numbers are great but his influence on a game is nowhere near what it was at his absolute peak (advanced stats pick this up). He used to be able to attack the paint and defend ferociously for 40 mins while carrying a team to 50+ wins by himself.

Where his body has dropped off, his experience has bridged the gap and he chooses his moments now. Instead of defending every possession, he turns it up for a 5 min spell. Instead of attacking the paint every time down the floor or going wild in transition, he uses his play making or better long range shooting more.

In a lot of ways, this reminds me of 2010+ Kobe. It's an all time great that is past their physical prime but has all the skills, experience and IQ needed to bridge the gap. They realise they can't do it alone anymore, and they pick their spots to go nuclear and blow up a game.

The best thing about these players is when they turn it on in the playoffs and go hard. It's like seeing the clock being rewinded back. We should enjoy Lebron while he is here, it's sunsetting on the end of another legendary career and hopefully we can have one more epic playoff.

Last year Lebron shot 41% on 7 attempts through the first 24 games. Over the next 9 games, he shot 19%.

He's a streaky shooter, so hopefully his groove sticks around for a bit.

    Damn. He's good.

Also this means there's no way he's not chasing the triple-double at C to complete the record, which will also earn him a free Subway sandwich on his punch card.

He had a triple double in his first start as center, against the Rockets.
