The more this franchise continues to cater to a black hole like Lebron foolishly thinking he can lead a title contender, they will continue being mediocre. They signed up for this. They fluked into a ring because of covid and the Bubble it this is 3 /4 seasons Lebron teammates underperforming supposedly . It’s funny how the more this team tried true to construct a roster to meet Lebrons needs the further away they have gotten from being a championship caliber team.

It’s bad enough that I have to read on other fan forums about our Mickey Mouse ring but this is a Laker site. Every team got the same time off that we got, we were high up in the standings when the season ended, we played with no fans and no home court advantage. It’s probably the most equal footing championship that will ever happen in the NBA and we took advantage of it.

Likes or dislikes about his game ! I couldn’t care less about his talent , I would have been happier if his talent stayed in CLE.

As far as LBJ as a person? I never liked him and to be honest with you I found it insulting to KOBE when we signed him .

Anyone who says the 2020 was a Mickey Mouse ring can eat a (bleep). That was as legitimate a title as there ever was one. Almost a calendar year season. No home court, no normal routine, the Lakers were #1 in the west when COVID shut things down and they dominated good teams to win the title. They didn't coast into Finals like the Suns did only to get backdoor swept.

If you don't have haters, then you probably aren't very successful at what you do. This franchise has more than it's fair share of haters worldwide, I guess some of it's fans feel entitled, to share that same energy with some of our players. Life is funny sometimes.

Funny how Kobe himself felt exactly the opposite.

I do not dislike LeBron the person. At the heart of things, he is a good person. He's just Peter Pan without any signs of progression.

His constant need for validation is nauseating and he justifies it with events outside the court that even he doesn't relate too, even though he says it. And those things tend to get him into contradictory territory.

Now, as far as the court. What did Kobe say about players wanting to play for the Lakers? He said if they ain't coming, they weren't the one anyway. The fact that LeBron came to the Lakers knowing most of Laker nation hated him and all that pressure to win here, well, you have to compliment him there. And then he clinched his Laker Legacy by adding a banner to the rafters.

Lebron came to the Lakers when they blew a**. So, you can't say he jumped to the next big thing. And the idiot public and sport crappers(analysts) kept telling us he's making the move for his family, Hollywood, blah blah blah.

Look, LeBron will never run anything in Hollywood. That's a different beast that already has its controllers. He's a control freak and he has zero chance of doing anything there, short of a couple producing credits and sports cameo type projects, if he wants to be like LeBron when he is trying to GM.

And his wife was always happy in Ohio. I'm sure she would have been fine staying in Cleveland if the Cavs had a better owner.

Always remember this, Kobe was hated towards the end. As a ballhog, salary cap waster and a shell of himself.

Human Beings have a massive problem with appreciating the good and bad of the good things we have. Only look at the bad when it's going on, and then later when you reminisce, it's all flowers and sugar cookies for everyone.

People are generally full of s***, especially when they are getting paid for their b*******. I implore some of you, not in just the sports watching life, but in your regular life, do not get trapped into that way of thinking. It's easy to be a sheep. Fight through it and learn to see current things as they are instead of overdramatizing it because f*** faces like Shannon Sharpe, Skip Bayless and Prick Wrong tell you some stupid ratings story to make you believe it's true.

Shannon Sharpe acts like he worships the ground LeBron walks on. When LeBron was doing that Barber Show and something Sharpe said came up, LeBron didn't even show that he knew he was a fan. A lot of these shows are only doing what they do to make you think it's true. It's not. They are fake fools and fools who watch and buy it are the bigger fools.

AD is a grown a** man. I am sick of seeing this narrative. Whatever he is doing is because he wants to do it not because he learned it from Lebron

Not a narrative. It’s just my opinion. People tend to act like who they hang out with- especially those with whom they have admired for a long time. It’s just basic psychology.

Oh believe me, I never take anything presented to me at face value. I don’t even listen to the so called basketball “experts” and haven’t for years.
Look, LeBron’s not a bad guy. I don’t “hate” him and I never have.
I can be upset with some of the decisions he’s made and still be a Laker fan. I actually admire the guy for some things he’s done outside of basketball like staying with his girl, keeping his family intact, and creating his school.
I’m just not down with sacrificing the future every single time one of his plans doesn’t plan out in order to fit “his timeline.”
For example, many are so excited to ship out THT and Nunn for a guy who is good, but IMO, not good enough to fix the plethora of issues plaguing this team. Yes, he fixes a need, but there are so many other holes that need to plugged in order for this team to even begin to start looking like a true contender.

I never did say that the Bubble ring counted less than any other. I have always been one to point out, on other sites, over and over again, that the players who played there were quoted as saying it was much tougher because of the mental hurdles they had to overcome. My factual point was that the break allowed an older LeBron and beat up AD much needed rest to enter the playoffs healthy. Everyone else received the same amount of down time.

Really? The entire history of LeBron suggests that it's EXACTLY what will happen.

LeBron is not stupid. He can see that this season is a lost cause. We all can, if are a bit blinded by some misguided fandom-based hope.

So now he has these options:

    1. play it out and burn out Kobe style in an attempt to get us to play-ins and a most likely exit in the first round, or
    2. sit it out, recuperating and trying again next year, especially since he's planning to wait for Bronnie anyway

The second option is much more palatable, in his mind, if it's due to some "higher force", like an injury.

This does hinder his top scorer in the NBA history chase a little, but he'd be there in 2 seasons regardless. All he needs is play another 100 games over these 2 seasons and score 25 points a game, which is a relatively minor challenge for him.

funny how people call the lakers ring fake but have nothing to say about the suns joke of a finals "run" last season where they managed to avoid a superstar in every series they played up to the finals

The entire history of Lebron suggests this is exactly will happen huh? Do tell...you should have a boatload of examples of such behavior to share. Bless us with a few.

That would sidetrack the narrative of Lebron has ruined the Lakers!

Yup, this team, currently losing to the Spurs, not close to being a contender, is perfectly fine! It has nothing to do with LeGM dismantling a core that had won a Chip 12 months previous !
Denial doesn’t exist! I just need to convince everyone else as well!

Kuzma, Kcp and Caruso weren't core dude. Trez, and Schroeder weren't even on that team at all. You keep on with the dramatics, Caruso played 20 mins a game, Kuz was inconsistent at best and KCP lost his jumper midway through the season. That core was broken up after the chip was won. Sanity doesn't exist it seems, the Jersey doesn't make any plays. The rest of team will be back soon. You must have been completely miserable during the youth movement. Smh
