    Brittle. Unmotivated. Scared.

That's how I describe someone who was top 5 in the league prior to his prime years.

No excuse for any of this.

20 minutes and 1 rebound? Wow.

I saw a bigger, stronger, equally talented KAT overpowering Davis numerous times. And we wonder why he wanted to try to gain strength with additional muscle. KAT was taller, heavier and stronger. Sometimes it’s as simple as that. And who knows when AD is feeling 100%. Probably certainly not after his ankle roll .… additionally.

Yeah, not sure why people thought AD should shut down towns in isolation with no help. He made him work, and towns was playing the hardest I’ve ever seen him play. AD still got him a couple times.

he twisted his ankle and then lebron threw a guy into his knee. Not his night.

He clearly shouldn't have come back yet. I think he rushed it based on our players dropping like flies. Hopefully that doesn't cause him to miss several more games.

Me and @sirronstuff were both saying a couple of years ago that AD is not physically equipped to play the 5 full time. Unless he plays in bubble wrap.

AD's pain tolerance is legendary. But not in a good way.

Kat was totally motivated and this was his playoffs. That being said though, he was backing AD down like he was a training dummy. Unfortunately at this point in his career AD has proven he is fragile. He’s had 2 seasons he’s played 75 games. Most seasons he plays 60 something. I don’t think we can depend on AD being healthy at this point. This is the perfect situation for him. He can let a 37 year old LeBron put the team on his back but at this point it should be the other way around. AD just seems to have no interest in getting back to the total domination that we know he’s capable of.

Unfortunately I think it's because he knows he can't sustain it without missing games. I think he's hoping to flip the switch in the playoffs and we can only hope he's able to get and stay healthy for that run... however short it will be.

I still don’t see most of AD’s injury questions having much to do with the 4/5 debate. I understand both sides, but the injuries appear to be a guy who constantly rolls ankles and people falling into his knees. I’d typically say these are fluke things that can happen to anyone, but it happens to AD all the time, regardless of the position he is playing.

I thought the soft label was overblown last year as he rushed back after the bubble, but it feels like once or twice a game he appears to be out for the season. I literally worry every time he elevates off the floor that he’ll come down and be done. I’m not saying to trade him ASAP, but I’m not entirely opposed to exploring options after the season, though that will obviously be heavily influenced by Lebron.

I don’t want to look into trading AD but I agree with the rest of your post. It seems like once or twice a game that he’s down on the ground or hobbling. It is nerve wracking and it doesn’t matter what position he’s playing.

Top 5 talent, that never impacted the game in a top 5 way other than a short stint in the bubble, after he had months off to prepare, and he still barely limped across the finish line. He is just now entering his prime and it appears his best years are behind him. He signed a 5 year deal when he stood to make more by extending later. That should have been an indicator that he doesn't believe in his own body, nor does he care as much about basketball as the all-time greats considering it allows him the ability to coast.

Look at this thread. "Kat was going at him really hard!" Really? Who the f--- cares? Shouldn't our prime, all-star 7 footer be up for that sort of challenge? Is an opposing basketball player playing hard supposed to be an excuse for our supposed "Top 5" player to have a bad game? To get 1 rebound in 20 minutes? I could run around the court and accidentally get a rebound in 20 minutes.

I get it. He got us a ring. But we need to be honest with ourselves. The only reason we got that ring is because of the bubble. That bubble allowed our geriatric Lebron and brittle AD to get to 100% for a short sprint to the finish line. AD is not a player who can be counted on to make it through a regular season and then playoffs. It took a special, once-in-a-lifetime occurrence for him to lead us to that ring.

Agreed and to clarify, I wouldn’t say I’m in favor of trading AD or would place calls to other teams, but I’d at least listen if another team makes a compelling offer.
