Felt like the entire team was sleep walking throughout this one until the skirmish. Russ and AD started developing some chemistry during the fourth.

Great 4th quarter, with some huge blocks and big baskets.

I was just glad to see him so into the game, showing emotion and fighting like hell to win. We need that from him, we need him to care.

    Well? Why not always?

This wasn't an overly physical game he played there, so injuries and bumping with centers isn't the issue that prevents him from doing this more often.

    Amazing game though.

We need this AD every game, hes the second leader. No more post game cryptic quotes, just go out there and play with passion… I’ll take a passionate game over a crazy stat line, sometimes we’ll get both like tonight.

He sealed the deal tonight on both ends down the stretch. Now that was the aggressive AD I needed to see.

i've answered this before for AD's detractors, but: because it's impossible? in that nobody ever plays that well every night, and if they did, they'd be the GOAT?

when you average 25 points, for every 40 point game, you have a 15 point game or three 19 point games, etc.

i agree the whole team can up its intensity on a regular basis, but the constant singling out of AD amidst a roster full of players who give half-assed efforts routinely is strange to me.

when he has a great game, people are like "finally". but if you dig back 4 games, there was another "finally", and then another. that's not "finally". that's the general frequency of great games you expect from a top-tier player.

First time this season Melo was "cooking" on the road.

    Stop bailing him out dude.

He had a 0-0-0 through a whole quarter. 2 straight games with 15 and 19 on the Q1 and then making the same the remaining 3 quarters. Just last week!

Curry does it all the time. Giannis does it all the time. Jokic. Luka. If he doesn't do it every game, he is not a superstar that will lead you to the chip

AD is the 4th leading scorer on the Lakers in the 4th quarter. He shoots 44% in the 4th quarter from the floor.

In all honesty, thats not good enough for the Lakers to be championship caliber. We simply need a prime AD who is the center of our activities. Its not good enough for him to be a top 10-12 NBA player. We need AD to be thought of as a top 5 player (at least).

His numbers are dominant this season. He is playing like an all-star. But then again, he seems to be a top 10 player with a not so alpha mentality. Thats great. Its just not what the Lakers need right now to be a top NBA team. He needs to be playing out of his minds.

curry missed the playoffs the past two years. jokic, giannis, and luka's teams are right near us in the standings.

you also picked the only non-lebron guys in the conversation ahead of AD, except KD. in other words: you're mad he's not the literal mvp. not sure if there's much ground to be gained by arguing such points.

Like the other user said, he needs to be a top 5 player, not a 10-12.

He just had stomach issues when he was throwing up. What is going on with him?

It is a bit worrisome. Hope it is not due to some underlying issue.
