i can't follow this whole conversation, but pretty much all statistical evidence says that 1/3 of our payroll is actively dragging the team down right now. as in: if we simply replaced westbrook with some joe schmoe pg, we'd be better off. i don't expect that to continue all year (if it does, we really might miss the playoffs), but right now, there's just not a good argument that this man is helping the team, and there are some good arguments that he's actively harming performance on both ends.

    ^so pretty much that.

Look, I love analytics. You have to just trust me on these stats. I don't know what else I can do.

It’s not just replacing Westbrick with ONE player, it would be replacing him with 2-4 players who could contribute to winning. This is why disregarding his salary is ridiculous.

Well, he won this game with his commitment and playmaking (especially by dishing to AD). Credit where credit is due.

    Feisty Russ

First squaring up during the brouhaha and then finally a vintage Russ dunk 'n scream.

That 4th was one of those that's why we got Russ games. That level effort and intensity was contagious.

Finished with 26-10-9 and only 3 TOs.

Really set the table down the stretch.

This is the Russ I was expecting; still pisses me off and causes a whole bunch of spacing issues but at least looks like a star.

THIS was the good version of Russ we saw his entire career.

More of THIS Russ going forward, please.

    Thanks,

This is the second game he’s won for us, good to see. Nice to see us not fold when LeBron went out, that’s why Russ was brought in.

He also improved his shooting (although he still takes threes he should not be taking) and reduced the turnovers. That's very encouraging. Shot 48% overall, but only 1-7 from 3. That's the last thing that needs to be fixed and we might be on to something here. I am not saying he should be a 40% shooter from 3, but don't take 7 man. Take 2-3.

In my opinion he won us the Spurs game, the Heat game and tonight’s game vs Detroit. On top of that he was leading from the front in the two Houston wins, against the Cavs and the last Spurs game.

so he CAN play without taking bad shots and forcing plays, he just doesn't WANT to most of the time.
