http://sports.yahoo.com/news/james-good-weve-ever-seen-nba-finals-says-205322473--nba.html Magic apparently thinks that LeBron's final performance was the 2nd best of all-time. Let me just post some FMVP stats in the last 15 years. We're not even touching Jordan, Magic, Kareem, Bird, Wilt, Russell, etc. This just the last 15 years. Kobe (08-09): 32.4 ppg 5.6 rpg 7.4 apg 1.4 spg 1.4 bpg 52.5 TS% Kobe averaged nearly as many points and assists as LeBron in less minutes with a lower usage rating. Kobe averaged more steals and blocks while shooting a higher FG%, 3P%, and FT%. Also, most importantly, Lakers won in 5 games. Honestly, Kobe could have probably averaged 45 ppg if he wanted and still win, but he got others involved. He took a back seat once in a while. Duncan (03-04): 24.2 ppg, 17.0 rpg, 5.3 apg, 5.3 bpg, 1.0 spg, 54.6 TS% Duncan averaged 5+ apg and 5+ bpg. He nearly averaged 20 rpg. He had a near quadruple double (21 points, 20 rebounds, 10 assists, and 8 blocks) in the elimination game. He was more efficient than LeBron. I mean, how valuable can LeBron be if a player is holding you to like 36% shooting? Anyway, Duncan also won in 6 games. Shaq (01-02): 36.3 ppg, 12.3 rpg, 3.8 apg, 0.5 spg, 2.8 bpg, 63.6 TS% Shaq had so many dominant performances. In this series, not only was Shaq infinitely more efficient, he also averaged more points, rebounds, and blocks than LeBron. Oh yea, Lakers swept the series. Oh yea, Kobe was pretty dang good too, but as we all know, he wasn't the FMVP. Shaq (00-01): 33.0 ppg, 15.8 rpg, 4.8 apg, 0.4 spg, 3.4 bpg, 57.5 TS% Shaq (99-00): 38.0 ppg, 16.7 rpg, 2.3 apg, 1.0 spg, 2.7 bpg, 57.6 TS% Yep. Again, Shaq dominated. I mean, seriously Magic. I know it's your job to hype up players and all. LeBron probably plays closer to you than Kobe ever did, but still, look at these performances!
As in greatest Finals statistically? Because if he's saying as a player I'm gonna throw a brick at him.
It sounds like he's saying that LeBron is either the second best player of all-time or had the second best performance of all-time.
Stopped listening to Magic loooong time ago. Dude is a bandwagoner and a d******. If it wasn't for his boy Byron coaching the Lakers, he would throw us under a bus on a daily basis.
The latter...except James did not have flu-like symptoms but did it with a near career ending encounter with a camera along with a less than stellar supporting cast.
Well, it's your fault! He read your editorial and ranked Lebron second all time immediately after reading it.
He must be trolling. Magic might be just saying things for the hell of it to get some ratings / discussion going and doesn't actually mean it. I mean, he also just said that Draymond Green is a top 5 all-around player in the NBA so...yea...
Johnson gets caught up in the hyperbole or perpetuates it too... I just laugh it off. There was a time when he flip flopped between 24 and James.
