Agree he should drop some of the offseason bulk as Cookie mentioned in GT. He looks a little slow to me. Or at least slower than we are used to.

thought someone said it, but it reminds me of when kobe bulked up and it hurt his game, so he just dropped it.

Lol..SMH..folks want AD to play 5 all the time, but want him to stay light and nimble. That ain't going to work. I keep saying the man is a power forward not a center. Last night illustrated my point. Adams would have pulled down 30 boards on AD alone. He is bigger and stronger than Davis. Hell Jackson jr is just as tall and long as AD. We still need size on the court with AD. The opposing center may not be an offensive threat on most nights, but that doesn't mean that they serve no purpose. You still have to box them out on the defensive boards, fight them to get offensive rebounds, and in general, wrestle with them for position in the paint at times. I still don't believe AD is built for that to play 5 exclusively.

I don't want him to lose ANY of the new beef. It will take some time for him to adjust and learn to play with it, but he needs every ounce of muscle he gained to stay healthy for a full season. Especially since he is playing over 60% of his minutes at the 5 so far.

I agree. Pau had to do the same thing when he was traded here, since he became a full time center when traded. He added muscle during his first off season and we won championships. Ludabrow will adjust.

No kidding with the “man up … grow a pair … and play the 5 in the starting lineup regular season too”; so he attempts to put on the muscle to be able to do that … and now it’s “naw you were better lighter, our bad, take it back off, but yeah still get in there and play the 5!”

 …. Reddit troll. Doesn’t he have some meme stock to be sticking it to WS with instead of picking on AD? ;)

Not a “great” game by AD’s standards, but still very encouraging.

There were at least a few notable plays where rather than holding the ball and ending up iso’ing from the midrange, he made a quick read from the mid-post to attack and bully his defender into good interior position. Feel like it’s been a while since I’ve seen that.

my consistent feeling has been that it's ok to start halves with AD at the 4, but we need to close them with him at the 5. and he can do that at his previous weight, imo.

But he’s tired of LB jerking him around about when at the 5 and how much weight. Doubt he changes it again this year for us on a whim after 3 games. :D

I find it strange that he played 33mins while Lebron played 40m. Also I find it odd that he wasn’t guarding Adams in the fourth but they had Melo doing that.

I suppose Melo was trapping the PnR and AD was providing help behind. But still…

i wonder if whatever action they were running meant adams's man was less likely to end up on an island with a wing or having to make weakside help decisions. if so, i could see moving AD to spots that demanded that. memphis wasn't going to go to the adams post up, regardless, right?

Adams was the screener for Ja. So they put Melo in the action and asked him to trap hard. That involved Ja beating him but giving Ja’s man time to recover and the rest of the team was there to help. Honestly it’s not a bad tactic when you have Lebron, Westbrook and AD in behind.

I was hoping he would significantly strengthen his core and legs so the fall count could become a thing of the past. Honestly, I don’t see a big change in his upper body. When Kobe decided to bulk up, it was a huge difference at media day. Again, we can’t expect anyone to match Kobe’s work ethic.

A 7 footer (AD) blocking another 7 footer (Jaren Jackson) at the 3 point line is a surprisingly satisfying basketball play

You're the most fragile superstar in the league.

But man when you're "on", you're a top 5 player in this league, young man.

    Great freaking game.

That's what a max player looks like...
