didnt think he'd be worse than pre season minus less turnovers hes was horrid EVERY aspect of the gm, his effort on def is grotesque...he literally just tries to stand underneath basket every play so he can grab rebs

This is literally what he does. Barely moves on defense. I wont go as far as saying stat padder, but this is what he does.

The thing is he doesn't move on offense either.
I said it in the game thread but they have to start using him as the roll man and use him as a primary screener if he doesn't have the ball. I agree he doesn't work well with the 2 big lineups (man if we had Bjelica to put at the 4 with AD at the 5: sorry stream of consciousness kicked in) but even with AD at the 5, he's just so useless.

Kerr told his guys to go under every screen so that ate up clock and then when the Lakers had to switch gears to a Lebron or AD iso, he just sits in the corner. They really need to see how Nash uses Bruce Brown in Nets to salvage some of his off ball game or it's going to be a long season

Also he just takes to many WTF shots. Why take pull up 3's wth plenty of time in the shot clock when you have a defender in a good position to defend you? Makes no sense

They have to play to his strengths.

    Start AD at the 5.

It won't solve all the problems, but it might mitigate some...

I just don't know what the Lakers were thinking

we're paying 44 mill to this dude and we're probably better off not having him on court

I was never a fan of the trade because of exactly reasons like this: I was just hoping with the Lakers and the influence of Rondo and Lebron he'd put the lid on it.
Plus in Houston he did stop shooting 3's

He’ll be fine, it’s early and we all know he’s going to need time to learn to gel with our roster.

what about when he's going to take a 3 pt shot, and remembers he's bad at it, so he takes one or two steps forward and shoots a terrible mid range.

I swear Russ has one of the dumbest shot selections in the NBA.
