-the problem with this is he's the perfect for what you want AD to be but in reality is not how he plays as you noted. He's absolutely devastating face forward to the basket attacking off the dribble or off the PnR.

-in addition, the game slows down in the post-season

-combine the above two: it's why having a guy with 3pt gravity to draw interior defenders away from the doubles off his faceups is a lot better fit.

I truly hope that does not happen. AD should be getting his 25+ ppg and be involved a lot unless it's a blowout.

All due respect to Chris Bosh, but he is no where near AD's skillset. If AD doesn't live up to his potential, there will always be a knock on what could have been with him.

Biggest difference between the pecking order here and now vs. Miami's trio is that both Russ and Bron want AD to be THE guy. Whether the alpha in them lets both of them do that, that's another story. But the desire is there whereas I guarantee that was never even a conversation in Miami regarding Bosh (nor should it have been).

Dwight needs to start. I don't think AD is ready to play Center.

The team needs to go back to being a sound defensive team and desperately pray and hope they hit an adequate amount of 3s (33%?)

Not happening or you would have seen Frank trying it out by now. Obviously he likes him coming in and wreaking havoc off the bench and all other minutes where he wants a non AD 5 out there and feels DJ can’t give him what Dwight can.

He didn't start him last time and he's not going to do it this time. Dwight is a backup here. Frank loves the energy boost he injects to the lineup and his cheerleading from the bench.

Even if we go with a traditional lineup it'll be with DJ starting with Dwight coming off the bench.

Like Dwight against 2nd units more than 1st.

we could be forced to start AD at c if we can’t run off solid d.

He needs to come off the bench. People look too much to lineups. Game has 48 minutes, doesn't matter who plays the first 6.
It's like Monk. He gives us more playing 25 minutes running the 2nd unit, than playing the bulk of minutes with the 360 and having the ball in his hands 2sec per attack

Jordan on the other hand can only play with the 360, because you only need him to defend, clean the boards and catch the occasional lob. If you have him with Melo, THT, Rondo and Monk, he's a liability. Howard is a strength.

I would like to see more of a few combinations. Rondo with Russ, Nunn, Melo and AD.
Lebron with AD, Monk, Nunn and Ellington.
Lebron, Russ, THT, AD and Howard.
Lebron, AD, Howard, Reaves and Bazemore. Russ, Monk, Nunn, THT and Howard

I never want to see Russ and Rondo on the floor at the same time regardless of who else is on the court.

Yeah Cookie plus it’s a waste of minutes and energy for Rajon at his age vs better ROI continuing the ideally and hopefully high level of offensive and defensive play when Russ sits. He shouldn’t be a crutch for Russ himself who needs to figure it out and earn his money.

I liked it actually. Russ has been struggling and we have to rest Lebron. I want to reduce as much as we can the time Russ is on the floor without a BBIQ guy there with him. He probably has the lowest IQ I remember in a star, can't have the ball in his hands and taking stupid shots or making TOs without a locker room leader screaming at him on the floor

I understand the IQ part, just don’t believe we should have 2 poor shooters, who both need the ball to make things happen, on the court at the same time. Just realized this was the AD thread, so to bring it back on track, either Russ or Rondo are good at getting AD a lob.

if rondo is going to become late-career kidd with the spot up threes, he can work with westbrook, though i don't love the defense there...

anyway, we need to get AD moving toward the basket on the catch more often. people won't run at him on the perimeter, so his agility gets lost out there. but if he's got a step on you inside the arc--with or without the ball--you're in big trouble.

We need our super star in his prime to be a stud. So is he going to be one or not? He got the rest he needed after whining last winter that the offseason was short. Russ/LBJ have mileage on them, its on this dude to step up and make an impact on both ends.

again, we’ve shown nothing indicating we want to hand him the keys on offense.

Devise an offense that works well for him and LeBron and AD needs to be a lot more consistent …. like what The Rock is saying. What superstars do?

AD needs to have a breakout year where he punishes opponents. He has to be assertive on both ends of the floor and shouldn’t be trying too hard to accommodate or fit around Westbrook’s game. He needs to dominate this season. It shouldn’t even be a question, but AD has made it one at times in the past here. Got to see aggressive AD most of the time rather than once every other or every few games or so. Time to step up.

Can't wait for AD to get locked down by Draymond in the 1st half because he started at PF then dominates the 2nd half playing C .

It's really rocket science for us .
