He telegraphed a bunch of passes like a rook actually.

this was the surprising part. looking rusty or missing shots happens, but that was weird.

$44 million??? Lol. Probably the best thing that could happen. Humble pie. Take care of the ball will be his focus. Defense ok. Effort and hustle. Still a playmaker that will really help AD, DJ, and Dwight. Runs and pressures D. Better than that “i don’t want $84 million” guy.

speaking of Dwight…man did we miss him last year.

He looked nervous out there. I guess that's what playing for the Lakers does to some people, especially because he is from LA. Good to have that out of his system before the season starts. He should play some more on Sunday.

Dwight’s a freakin’ physical marvel with his body and conditioning up there on Lebron’s plane with that at his age. Those drills he busted his a** with over the summer chasing the trainers around while carrying the big weighted tube up in front of his chest seem to have paid off as well.

Russ tried to force too many passes, the whole team was doing it for awhile. Golden State had 22 steals...they are NOT some great defensive team. He'll be fine. Those 7 boards in 18 mins are more of an indication of things to come to me. Can't wait to see the big three on the court together.

Well, we know the theme here on why he played the way he did: "it's just the preseason," lol.

    He'll be fine.

A couple of concerns I have we already know: the lack of shooting and his habit off being a non factor when he doesn't have the ball in his hands.

Although, I think those will be more glaring in the PO's when teams can lock in...

He will be just fine. In fact he’ll be great. I’m not concerned about his first pre season game here, especially without AD on the floor.

Why shoot this? If you want to be selfish at least your size and athleticism to put your back into the smaller player in transition and bully your way to the cup

The Russell Westbrook train is going to give me a heart attack this season.
The weaknesses in his game are just so fixable: stay away from pull up jumpers yet he keeps doing this throughout his career. Hope Lebron and Rondo can really get in his ear. If you just take away these dumb shots his efficiency would go up significantly and make the team better. You're surrounded by finishers for heaven's sake

Don’t understand in first place why after all these years he can’t hit that/those shot(s).

we were taught to take that on a break if they cut off the layup, simply because an open 10 footer is often better than what your offense will get you (cue damnation of offensive systems). i'd like to see what his percentage is there. there are worlds in which it could make sense, and at one point in his career, he was the master of that particular shot (i know because i used to shoot them, and my knees hurt watching him do it).

anyway, not going to freak about his first preseason game, but i had hoped he'd be noticeable for things other than pretty bad turnovers (those were rookie bad, imo). let's hope it's part of the ramping up.

I expect Russ to play better than last night but he’s always been turnover prone. You put LeBron and Russ on the same team and we are going to average a lot of turnovers per game.

Preseason...working out the kinks...but I dont wanna see Westbrook take those pull-up 20 footers in transition with 19 seconds on the shot clock and 5 men back already...

There's zero reason to take that shot with all the guys we got on this team

Anyone noticed that he was always standing in the corner in half-court set plays? Lebron was with the ball and Monk at the top of the key, sometimes making screen and basically making the plays

I found that odd and don't think is a good use of his skills
