i'm really pulling for westbrook, and not just because he's a laker. in fact, the only time i didn't pull for westbrook was when he was in houston (cuz antichrist organization at the time).

would be so great to see him get his ring here.

Especially since the alternative is Harden getting one instead.

Has this dude lost any athleticism at all? I mean, the way he moves and jumps is scary.

My goodness Russ is a big dude. Sometimes it goes unrecognized when he’s on the court with other players. I’m not worried about lack of spacing for this reason. Prior to the bubble in 2019-20 our starting five was:
    Avery Bradley
    Danny Green
    Lebron
    AD
    Javale

Outside of Danny Green we didn’t have a floor spacer. Westbrook and Avery Bradley are comparable shooters with Russ being capable of doing so much more offensively. All we need is for Monk/Ellington/Baze to give us what DG did from the perimeter and we’re set.

Nice to see Westbrook healthy in the off season for a change. Last few years he has been getting surgeries and rehabbing in the offseason and having to play his way into form. This should be a good year for him!

Get Rondo into that gym and make him shoot the set shot when it's a catch and shoot. I like that he is not trying to reach the moon on his catch and shoots and he seems to be landing pretty close to where he jumps. This always looked like the biggest problem with his jumper just way too much up and down motion but I fear this is the slow motion of practice and when it's gametime he's going to want to go back to his bad fundamentals

didn't bradley shoot 40% from three that year? and then kcp was hitting in that spot during the playoffs.

    Nah.

    Compare to this:

His head was at the rim, and there are many more where he jumps higher. The one above is pedestrian by his standards. Now... that is still mighty impressive, but he clearly is not at his peak from jumping standpoint.

No, he actually shot 36%, which isn’t bad. Russ shot 31% last year, but he more than makes up for it in assists and offensive rebounds compared to Bradley that it’s not even close.

problem is that his specialty is assists to three point shooters.

And speaking of KCP, he shot a stellar 38% in our championship run. But fell off a cliff with an unacceptable 21% this past year in the playoffs. I choose to be optimistic with our new shooters until they prove otherwise.
