i know he wasn't all that great last season, but still bothers me how the whole situation with drummond went down. i hope the FO learned its lesson there

at least he gets to retire a grizzly before he probably heads back to spain

yeah, saw this coming. we're worse at c this year than we were last year at this point, imo.

bummer we won't get to see marc hit westbrook cutting.

So the rumors about trading him to save luxury tax dollars were true after all they just had the wrong team for the other end of the trade

Yes I called this as LTCarnactheMagnificent 2 days ago for the same reasons after observing Dwight's workouts and the assumption Marc was gone. Only to be mocked by 3 people and silence from the rest. Scoreboard.

Yeah, it started to look as though the writing was on the wall. From us trying to recreate our championship team to Stein's rumor to radio silence from the front office and Gasol on the matter to AD showing up to DJ's presser looking like a kid on Christmas morning.

I don't think it matters if DJ or Dwight get the starting nod, both will be getting 20+ minutes a night during the regular season.

I would like to add a 3rd insurance C, if we decide to fill the entire roster. The next signing should be a wing and then I'm in favor of maxing us out at 15 (don't get the buyout market empty slot considering this roster). Boogie or Ed Davis and Ennis or Wes.

Thanks for giving it a shot last year, Marc

There's always Boogie, right? He can shoot the ball.

would totally take cousins at this point. I’d like a skilled option at center.

So, Rob turned a second round pick into 10 mil in savings. Does this guy have any clue how the cap or business works?

Plus, he can buy a 2nd next year for about 3 million and make 7 million profit. He must have scrambled into a pure luck good result.

Has there been any reporting on the sequence of how this all went down?

Was Marc already seriously contemplating retiring/staying home in Spain and so that’s why we went for DJ?

Or was Marc fine with returning but once we went strong after DJ, that’s what sealed the deal for Marc that he didn’t want to return since his role would have been minimized?

The grumblings for a trade were already out there before the DJ deal was even a thought. THey've been talking about dealing him for luxury tax relief for awhile now

we'll find out eventually, but my guess is marc was leaning retirement the whole way, and that's why dj signed.

anyway, having a non-shooting, non-passing big with our starters is going to make for some rough offense to start games, i fear.

I'll keep going back to it but it sure as hell didn't when our offense was ranked 4th when we won the title with McGee and Dwight and now we have more playmakers..
