I think we’ll keep Vogel until we need to start rebuilding post Lebron.

There has been comments made that we're going to be a much worse defensive team this year because we traded KCP and Caruso signed elsewhere. I'm not really buying that.

Really keen to see Vogel work his magic and have us as a top 5 defence again.

I hope you're right and if anyone can make that happen it's Vogel

Our defence was never predicated on strong perimeter defenders. We based it on great defensive players at the 4 and 5 and strong help defence. That doesn't change. Then when you look at personnel in vs personnel out.

AC - Westbrook (Caruso plays better defence nightly, but Westbrook has a higher ceiling man to man)
KCP - Bazemore (pretty much a wash)
Kuzma - Ariza (Ariza is the better defender still)
Drummond - Howard (Howard is the better defender still)

We should be a top 5 defence and a top 5-8 offence. That's a recipe for contending.

I love Vogel, I give him a LOT of credit and think he is the absolute right guy for the job.

I just understand how we are managing his contract if he indeed has 2 years left by the reasons I've written above.

Regarding the first year, we were great but wouldn't call it a masterpiece. We were always the strongest team of each matchup and were lucky to avoid the Clips and Bucks, that were the 2 other best teams, while the Nets were waiting for their big 2 at the time. In the end, we were the best team and that title was undisputed. Just think a masterpiece is a reach

    Let's see...

    First year coach w/Lakers

Brand new team with the additions of Rondo and AD

Teams like Miami with LeBron, Bosh & Wade didn't win in their first year together under regular circumstances

A worldwide pandemic creating conditions we've never seen before in sports. Causing some players not be able to handle the bubble environment, ask PG13

Getting everyone to buy in under those circumstances

Going a combined 16-5 in the playoffs only losing 1 game in each of the first 3 series

1st in defense and 4th in offense in the entire league

Yea, you're right he's awful. So far from a masterpiece

Also we play who's put in front of us, Miami beat the bucks. They were the better team..what exactly have the Claps won? Oh that's right absolutely nothing. Weren't they up 3-1 on Denver? I can't remember, do you remember?

I didn't said he was awful, far from it. I'm sensing you're not up for a discussion so I'll gently retract from any additional answer.

    Take care.

    Ok

Thought arguing semantics was more of a you're wrong it wasn't a masterpiece when most coaches wouldn't have been able to pull of what he did.

    You too bud

    Take care

Didn't realize 3 was interested in coaching. I knew his dad is really popular with the Rockets roster from a couple seasons ago and a lot of them, including Harden, wanted him to get the head coaching nod.

Golden State had a lot of injuries the last few years. Not sure I’m excited to have someone from their training staff with our team.
