While I was totally against this trade initially, I have come around to it. With the remaining additions, this could actually work, really looking forward to the next season.

I imagine when we win the championship this year their story will be how we were allowed to unfairly stack our decks and that Silver should have stepped in to stop us like his great predecessor did!!

My take on it is the same as every year for the most part, we are the glamor franchise who everyone loves to hate. Simmons, Woj, Hollinger, Lowe etc etc...all have negative/bias spins on anything the organization does/doesn't do (some of these guys are obviously extremely more bias then others). From family dissention with the Jim debacle saying the franchise wouldn't recover, the failing of our super team (their words) with Malone and Payton, Westbrook etc etc...

Fact is it's the same with anyone else that is the proverbial king of the mountain, those who aren't with you will always pray for your downfall. We are tied for most NBA titles in league history with 18. Fielded some of the best trades/free agent signings ever to further our legacy. Been one of 3 teams in league history to 3-peat. Have had arguably the best centers in the league all want to play here. So many examples of greatness from top to bottom that it literally pisses people off. I mean when the league commissioner gets involved to slow you down (CP3 trade) and league execs and fans erupt when Jerry West fleeced Memphis for Pao (purely optic driven initially, that trade ended up good for both sides in the end) even casual fans who don't pay attention to small market teams like OKC/Hornets etc lost their damn minds because....We are the biggest brand in the league period. Add in the trades for Jabar, Wilt and giving up Goodridge that turned into the pick for Magic, we have usually been on the right end of these deals.

The Lakers are like real estate saying, it's all about location, location, location...Even in the age of social media, marketing your individual brand here is easier then almost anywhere else. The amount of outside opportunities (endorsements) to exponentially extrapolate their brand/financial security are far more numerous then almost anywhere else, s-hit look at Drummond...One of the biggest media markets in the nation. Weather, women, nightlife, things to do all make this the premier destination in the league to play let alone winning a title. Can Charlotte offer any of this? OKC? Memphis...

They hate us cuz they ain't us

I truly sit back and laugh when I read the BS written by Simmons & Lowe. Shake my head when I listen to Woj, cringe when I see the Claps try to emulate our shine. We are the jewel of the league gentlemen period

lol ok anonymous executives. sorry your teams are playing for second.

i enjoyed the rage-filled undertones of "it probably won't prevent them from winning anyway..."

nice hedge: the worst move of the offseason isn't enough to stop us? how does that make sense?

Let's be fair, most if not all also felt the same initially. I actually made a post saying I didn't like the fit.
I got used to the idea, read more things and I think with the crew we put together, it was a perfect trade.
We struggle without LeBron so we got the next guy who is the closest to what LeBron offers in terms of style of play.

But yeah, I agree Lakers are hateable. All the greats are, thank god we have that hate. 5 years we were not being hated

The hate has always been there. It had taken on a new form though during the dark years, and manifested into pure Schafenfreude.

Just between the lobs and the full court passes, AD's number will see an uptick. We're dealing with the 7th best rebounder in the league last year, he can snatch the rebounder and let AD leak out down the court and hit him in transition.
