I'd sign and trade for Hield in a heart beat if Sac actually wanted DS. They're stacked at PG though and already on record saying they have no interest in him
I'd too. Hield is an ideal fit. I'm just saying paying 100+ mio. in taxes isn't something the Lakers are going to be happy to pay.
At this point, I think any "interest" we have in Hield is old information reporters are regurgitating for page clicks. If we were willing to let a player like Caruso walk to save money, I don't see a way we take on a player making over twice as much.
I will be pissed off if we take him even for the vet min. He is a good player but this team is good now and seems will have great chemistry, he may just blow it
It would be interesting to find out the backstory of Dennis’s decision to turn down our 4/84 offer. Was it his or his agents thinking or a combination? No way an agent should tell you to turn down that offer if they don’t have a very good idea of what kind of suitors you will have in free agency. Of course if the agent did go to teams with cap space during the season and there wasn’t much interest, it’s hard to tell your client that. Dennis thought he was going to get wined and dined like he’s a star. Big reality check.

Yah we don't need Buddy now. Have better all around players that can shoot and take it to the rim and play better D. We need another solid backup for AD that can defend, doesn't even need to score much with all the firepower.
I know everyone is upset that we didn't retain Caruso and I get it but....if the Lakers had the option of getting Hield instead wouldn't he be a better fit as a consistent 3 point threat? I'd rather have Hield, I mean he isn't quite the defender Caruso is but he shoots the hell out of the ball at a much higher clip then Caruso probably ever will and he's still getting better. Imagine all the open looks he would get on this team compared to Sac. If I was going to pay tax and had to choose, for me it's a no brainer but I don't sign the checks lol
