Easily the best pickup so far. Really like the Wellington/Howard signings as well.
    Meh on Ariza/Melo
    Hate letting AC go

Yea, I was excited once he got waived, thought he would fit in with the Lakers off the bench, he has an under the radar game, can't wait to see him get hot from 3 with this team.

Going through the Twitter responses to Woj breaking the story, a common one was, "WITH WHAT MONEY?!?!" inferring they thought he cost quite a bit and we shouldn't have been able to afford him under the cap.

It could be a savvy move. He will be on TV for the whole season/ majority of holiday games, getting exposure and people to notice his game. It can up his value playing with a big 3 team getting wide open looks, doing what he does best which is to shoot. Hopefully he can cash out later like Caruso did, not though I want to lose them lol.

clearly his play. but he has to beat out ellington, bazemore, and maybe even THT/nunn for the minutes. these are established vets and other youngsters who have shown promise.

interesting to see how the competition plays out. hopefully in favor of the team, but that's not guaranteed.

Well, indeed, if getting a promising, albeit flawed, 23 yo for peanuts isn't good enough, I don't know what is. Unless he is a moron or does have a drug abuse problem, he'll improve some more. Nothing to complain about.

Monk is better then Mills at this point. He is a great slasher and above the rim player. He also attacks the rim on teh dribble drive and is super athletic. Hes been getting better every year and with the playmakers we have on this team he will fit right in. He's also much bigger then Mills and Vogel will get much more out of him defensively then anything he produced with the Hornets. Mills is a proven quality shooter but he lacks in all these other areas that Monk will excel and he's on the wrong side of father time lol which is ironic when talking about our team. Honestly this is a good infusion of young talent to offset our older players.

I'm no Malik Monk expert, but dam look at that athleticism, plus he looks more than just a shooter from 3 like the poster above stated, he can take you off the dribble from a 3 run out. He has some up side, if he works hard, he can keep getting better, kind of reminds me of Ariza back in the day, raw athletic when he first came to the Lakers.

Three inches taller, younger, likely higher ceiling, more athletic. Monk is the better pick. Mills is good but still a midget that plays below the rim (no offense to midgets).

In an ideal world, Monk develops on defence with some good coaching and becomes a slightly more athletic, less conservative KCP.

If that happens, we lose him next season though.

If he plays that well, we are likely winning a championship and it will be worth it. The great thing about having three superstars and a roster full of "just good" players is that we only need one or two to play above their previous level to make us unstoppable.

Holy crap. Read these comments and watch that highlight clip vs if it had been our original target Mills …. and then like an hour or two later it was Rob going “hold my beer if you like Monk” and lands Nunn which generates even better comments in comparison to Mills for our backup PG target. With still AC’s trade exception for deadline moves and still Schroder’s asset for potentially even more value back.

I have a hunch maybe all this was what Cuff The Legend’s cryptic tweets regarding Rob early today were about?

Vogel's strong suit is defense. Agree though that we should be able to score more and not get stagnant for stretches when Mr. Space Jam takes a seat for a spell.

Before I could ever wrap my head around him being our backup option to Mills, Rob went and added Nunn too. He just wanted to mic drop on some folks today.

Never thought I'd see a 23 year old up and comer take the min from us. He's not the sharpest crayon in the box, but he can certainly get hot from deep, attack the rim, and get out and run.

I love how today all the sports shows were saying that it's great we have Westbrook, but who's going to be able to get out on the break and run with him. Then this afternoon Rob netted Monk, Dunn, and reupped THT. Can't wait to see what limitations they come up with for us on tomorrow's broadcasts.

yeah, my first concern with any vet min--especially young ones--is that they're rentals. as a fan, that's sort of harder to enjoy.

then again, if it works for monk, it might encourage the next one, too.

Yes, we do need to account Vogel defensive capabilities and ways to get out the best of players on that end. Hell, Kuz upgraded from a liability to a trustable defender. KCP and Caruso were not top league defenders before. I can see Monk, Nunn and/or Bazemore taking a big leap
