only way it makes sense to lose him is if a) we get a TE AND b) he's signed at such a high rate that he'd be hard to move in trade (say, 3/45 or 4/55). there simply aren't two-way guards who can give you minutes at both backcourt spots available for sub-MLE. and no, patty mills isn't that.
This will be really stupid: losing both KCP and AC is just a gut punch in terms of quality roleplayers
I am at a loss as to why we would let him leave (unless for some reason he has decided he doesn't want to be a Laker anymore). If we let him go, and get nothing in return, this offseason starts to look more like a failure. I can stomach losing half our depth to add a star (albeit a poorly fitting one). But if we start letting all our depth go because of Westbrook's contract, then it's a failure. AD + Lebron + a bunch of quality role players is better than AD+ Lebron + Westbrook + 9 old veterans with osteoporosis.
I don't get it. How can we choose not to match the MLE? If that's what he's being offered, that's actually less than what he's worth. He's worth 11 million a season for us. Stupid if he walks for that.
9M a year? Are you f stupid? OMFG Best +/- with LeBron. One of the best guards on D IN THE NBA. He won us games so many times with a steal, a deflection, making the life miserable to the opp guard This is really really really stupid. No sense at all, I'm flabbergasted
