That question makes sense. It's meant to ask if they lost because of them or if it was because of the other team merits.
If Caruso and THT were to re-sign, they would already be done with it no? This means that, at the very least, they are entertaining others' offers. It's a no-brainer, AC and THT absolutely need to stay
Earliest they could announce and do it is official start of FA today, so no, "No". But "Yes" they need to stay.
I don’t think it’s that simple. I’m betting Rob has to sign players in a specific order, and wait for Kuz’s extension to kick in etc, to not get the team hard capped with signing Westbrook or something.
i think THT is more complicated because he's restricted, and it's in his best interest to get an offer sheet (he can make much more money that way). with AC, his agent should have a pretty good idea of what his value is based on conversations (that weren't technically supposed to be happening but were definitely happening).
i'll be very surprised and disappointed if we don't. i mean, i suppose some team could get crazy and offer him a two-year deal worth 30 million or something, but if all he's offered are MLEs, i think we have to keep him. my guess is his salary will actually be under the MLE (like 4/35).
Caruso and THT will be back. It makes a lot more sense to keep these guys and potentially trade later. I’m not suggesting trading either one, but given our cap situation, it makes a lot more sense to keep now and get assets later than letting either one go for free.
I think we keep both Eagle and THT. We will be in tax hell but we are anyhow with Westbrook’s contract. If you’re going to go all in, why stop now? I know we will have lots of old vets willing to play for us but there’s only so many dinosaurs you can have on the bench at one time without risking a meteor hitting our flat earth.
i really doubt it. sounds like teams are lining up to give him the MLE. that may be a bit much given that he's really a 25mpg player, but he does so many of the intangibles that pretty much any team could use him. mirroring debates in other threads: AC fits everywhere, schroder doesn't. factor in that schroder's asking price is insane, and you're going to see AC pursued first.
wouldn't surprise me if we offered him a 2-year deal at over the MLE just to ward off some suitors. compromise ends up being a 3 year deal at mle or 4 year at just under.
ummmmm....there are now a LOT of rumblings that we're going to let the eagle leave the nest, and that's some b*******.
