Mac doesn't play much defense (from what little I saw during his time at Georgetown), so we'll see his progress this summer... Ayayi had some good highlights at Gonzaga... and haven't seen anything on Reaves... but it seems like these 3 have potential... South Bay!
i don't want to crush certain folks' dreams, but i have very little hope for mclung other than doing some entertaining stuff in summer league. dude might make a good living in china or something, though. i'm willing to entertain the idea that my read on reaves is wrong (lots of scouts seem to think he's much better than i do), and i can't decide where i fall on ayayi. my money would be on him being the most likely to have an nba career. but as a utility backup.
I said this somewhere else. We are very limited in filling out this roster with quality depth. Caruso is one of only a couple options that doesn't have us searching the bargain bin.
Hey I’m realistic about my hopes, it was that he makes the G league team. He only goes 175lbs, even if it’s shredded, coiled 4.5% athletic muscle. Once there considering how hard of a worker and extra hours worker he is with the physical tools he has and skills already developed, if they keep improving then good luck to the kid maybe he gets a chance in the NBA. I mean we had “Marcel” on the Lakers for awhile. Mac probably has a higher ceiling than that, tougher than that and he did break Iverson’s 20 years old state HS scoring record. Will be fun to see how it translates in Summer and hopefully G league. I’m hoping at least that his practice camp deal includes summer league and a shot at South Bay. No idea if he plays any D. Do know that his kind of game with that athleticism at his size is fun to watch. EDIT .... woot woot .... add 6 more pounds of coiled super athlete muscle to my comment above. According to Draft Epress. They have him at 6'3" and 181lbs. Am serious though about the quality of the build on this guy at 6'3" and that 6 lbs is a big deal. At that size and weight it is. I bet with his speed and jukiness (see football running back history in the long video on him) and strength he's going to be bumping and catching guys off balance and getting to the basket a lot like THT. He's a smaller, faster version with a nice looking J that he can get off and actually gets elevation with. Floater, ambidextrous at the rim, catch oops, in your face jams. He's the same height or only a little shorter than Russ. Another great intensity tutor for a kid that brings similar game and his own intensity. http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Matt-Mcclung-102668/
LOL so much for the Caruso “salary minimizers” around here that have been throwing out the pipe 5-6M numbers. mcdisbelieveyou:
