I’m a big fan of Wes and yes he’s said he wants to return. I’d give him the starting job that he was used to before he got demoted here. He’s a heck of a defender and I think his shooting will return with the starter’s role. We saw signs of it at the end of last year.

Russ defender will dare him to shoot when Russ has the ball and help on Bron/AD when he has not

He jumps too high on his shots.
Never thought I'd say this but almost wish Kidd was still here (or maybe try to get Rondo back as a player/coach?) for two things
-They need sit with him and just pound it in his head that with Lebron and AD you don't need to do like any pullups like ever.
-concentrate on your footwork and not trying to jump to the moon on each 3 pointer. A set shot off catch and shoots could really improve his numbers just like Kidd and Rondo did

Unfortunately, that's how he learned to shoot his threes and he's been doing it for a long time. It would take years to "practice" that out of him.

I don't care what anyone says. This trade is a g damn steal. For Kuz, KCP, and Harrell and a pick? Easily replaceable with 3 + D guys.

I loved Kuz's hustle and commitment last year, but he was inconsistent. Same with Harrell, especially after the league found out how to neutralize him and exploit his defensive weaknesses.

Get a couple 3 + D guys, a couple of long centers to alter shots and catch lobs, and let our big 3 do their thing, and the sky's the limit.

Concerns about RW's range is totally warranted, but I'd still let him take that wide open shot on occasion. Either that or have LeBron run up and receive a hand-off and screen, then boom, LeBron 3.

Stay healthy and this next season is gonna be so fun to watch.

neither of those things is very easy, though. we have to hope someone takes substantially less money to do this for us.

3 + D guys (legit ones) are 18-20 million dollar players. Any 3 + D guy we get will either be a shell of their former selves (Matthews) or missing one of the 3 or D (Melo).

The reason why Silver has been hit and miss with the tampering situation is because NBA free agency and off season is almost as big as the actual season. NBA off-season has become the most valuable off season in all of sports.

The buzz it creates is extremely intoxicating to not only the fans but the analysts and sources and everyone's social media is bangin during the NBA off season.

So, Silver, being the smart, practical guy, he has to balance it out without actually saying it.

I love how the "pundits" are trying to hate on Westbrook by pointing out all the stars he's played with but hasn't won.

KD - What has he done without 2 other superstars?
    PG - Nuff said.
    Harden - Hasn't won anything
Beal - The rest of their team was garbage. They had a rough start, but played well to close the season
Oladipo - Not a superstar and he didn't blossom until he got to Indy

I enjoy all the hoops people are jumping through to hate already. I get questions about shooting and spacing, but I'm confident we'll shore that up.

Remember we have a possibility of DS S and T to shore this up. Sure DS might sign somewhere outright but I don’t see how he gets the deal he is looking for on the open market. Sign and trade might be his best option as well as ours. I’m hoping for that solution.

That is true. They don't even have to be that good individually, just complementary pieces with veteran experience.

Sure but hopefully he can pass to a decent SG or SF that we sign in that case or drive and kick which he is deadly at.

    Some positives :

    - He can bully people at his position
    - We should be better when Lebron sits .
    - He's a guy I could root for , he's no CP3.

His past teammates actually do love him , contrary to how the medias "paint" him

Also we can truly say without a doubt that he is Kobe approved. To me that means a lot. We have all seen his fire. Now he has to play smarter and fit in here. But considering he wanted this trade and talked about playing here with AD and Lebron I think he will do just that. He’s motivated! He wants that ring.

Ya we desperately needed another ball hog that can't shoot 3s, FTs or any shot for that matter.

And we trade away 2 of our top 5 shooters.

I'm sorry, getting stars doesn't mean getting wins. I'm not sure how this works out, I'm sceptical. Not a fan of Westbrick.

It feels like Rob isn't thinking about the fit. He seems to just want to do something in order to do something.

I don't think this is purely a Pelinka decision. LBJ and AD had to have been consulted and green lit it. The LA Times article mentioned that they had met with Westbrook weeks back and discussed him coming to the Lakers which meant this was planned to an extent and thought out.

I don't know, I guess we'll just have to see how it goes.

Let's not pretend we were a good shooting team. I'll take an athletic superstar that can't shoot, over guys who "can"... and then, they score 10+ pts on 50% shooting every 6 to 7 games.
Besides, vets will be lining up to join us, patience ;)
