all the non-lebron minutes will be better, imo. i was hoping schroder would help with this more than he did.

yeah, i really think we make too much of this. we do need to shoot better, but we've had pretty bad luck bringing in shooters (danny green most recently) and pretty good luck having non-shooters overperform enough to help us win (e.g., caruso, who became a shooter!).

VERY INTERESTED to hear that lebron and AD said they'd shift up a position (to their actual positions!). my concern there is that AD can't bang for long stretches with the behemoths (and most teams employ those). but simply maximizing the time AD spends at the 5 will translate to a lot more wins (and easier wins, which can also help guys get rest).

Westbrook wasn’t playing with LeBron and AD during that series though. The Rockets also ruined their chances at competing with us that year by starting a 6”5 guy at center.

Danny Green provided spacing despite his bricking because he was respected as a shooter around the league .

    Russ won't

How does this change unless Russ gets his numbers better? This is exactly what teams would want to do against AD and Lebron!

Sag off the perimeter and clog the pain is the only thing that has ever worked against LeBron James in the Finals if you have similar talent.

Either Russ's jumper gets better or he better be willing to play the center spot ala Brice Brown in the playoffs.

I love Westbrook, the kid is from Long Beach, put it on for the Bruins and now the Lakers. It’s a fairy tale basketball move and I Iove it as a Cali guy.

But honestly- AD and LBJ openly admitting they need to play 4 and 5 might be bigger news for Laker fans. That’s huge.

Openly admitting recruiting a player under contract might be even bigger. How does somebody not try to make an example out of the Lakers for that?

Not the smartest thing to admit that meeting happened IMHO.

I woke up this morning pretty excited about Westbrook coming here. As I noted elsewhere, he may not look like an ideal fit, but I cannot think of any time a franchise assembled three "super team" level players, and just couldn't make it work because of "fit" (versus getting derailed by injuries, which happens all the time, and what can you do?). More to that point, we've since learned that the three of them met a couple weeks ago and all of them agreed they'd change their roles however necessary to win. Fact is, Westbrook has the Mamba Mentality, he's tenacious for all 48 minutes, and he'll give opposing teams fits while LeBron is resting. As others have noted, yeah, we need shooters. Hopefully, that's Rob's focus now. But I'll also remind people that LeBron has had 40%+ seasons form three. With Westbrook handling the ball for stretches, LeBron should be getting some really good looks. AD too.

I don't think there are any restrictions on players talking amongst themselves.

Russ isn’t a shooting guard. He’ll be just fine if he limits his wtf pull up j’s and defers a bit to LBJ. We just need to sign a decent SG on the cheap.

Russ is a better catch and shoot guy than a pull up guy. Not great but better so if he limits his pull ups we’re golden
