first reaction is I don't like this for the clips. doesn't make sense on paper. then again, last year's hawes acquisition DID make sense on paper and failed miserably. second reaction: maybe biyombo got a bit more attainable today?
Reddick sucks anyways. Now they just need Deandre back and a SF and a bench... still a step in the right direction
Every year, the Clippers play musical chairs with their role players, hoping it will break their 2nd round blues.
LOL Clippers. Rivers must be really confident that he can maximize Lance Stephenson's talent. I highly doubt that's going to happen though, and I fully expect this to blow up in his face.
Who knows how will pan it out...but i think this was risk lac had to take... It is obviously they needed to improve if they plan to compete for real next year...and they cant do it with barnes starting...stephenson is big risk, but if he works out lac got steal for just 9mil,if not, they are practicaly same as the last year. If doc can implate him in the team, and he plays alround game with solid d,and stop shooting 17% for 3,then they got the steal...if not doc has to get fired... I personaly think lance is doc resposability,if he cant coach him,it should be bye bye for him
90% of this board (not me though) wanted Lance on tha Lakers even though he is a headcase. He signs with the Clipps and all of a sudden he is a headcase that can't be fixed . I get it
My problem with this trade isn't that he's a headcase. I'm simply not sure if he can be a full-time SF, and the Clips, absolutely, desperately need one, since they gave up on Barnes. In addition, Lance has had a pretty bad year.... I don't know, maybe he'll bounce back.
Clippers don't have many options cap wise ... this is a risky trade but what else could they do ? Sign PP and bring Barnes off the bench might have been a better option ... besides this , I don't know
I didn't want Stephenson because he was a head case. then I wished the lakers had signed him when I saw what they decided to do with their cap space... I don't like him for the clippers because he's a bad perimeter shooter. on a team with more shooters on the floor, you can get by with Stephenson. I'm not sure they can, though. it was part of charlotte's problem, too.
Apparently Doc plans on letting him run the offense when Paul isn't in the game so that Stephenson gets more comfortable on the floor. That might be even more dangerous than the trade itself. @Kenzo I'm not sure I get your point man. I wanted Stephenson DESPITE the fact that he was a headcase. I thought playing with Kobe might be enough to get his head right. He had a horrible year in Charlotte and now he's headed to a team full of mental midgets. It's not a great fit.
I agree... Clips had to upgrade from Barnes at the 3. They had no cap room to acquire a FA & move Barnes to the bench.. If Stephenson returns to 2013 form, this was a major upgrade for them... They still have no bench though.
