He fought . He is just not a good fit next to Bron and AD off the ball . Better with spacing too but it took Vogel 23 quarters to understand it
He’s not the guy. He already proved it to us. That said, tonight was a little bit of a redemption for him. He played better and showed something. Was it enough? Not for a big contract, no.
If I am Rob, I say to Schroder: "Sorry, that is not a fair deal for us." If Schroder wants to prove himself, take a one year deal for $15 million and PROVE himself... Otherwise, get outta here.
Schroder said it's not about the money... he wants to win a title with the Lakers. This is the same guy who said he wants to return but the money has to be fair. Which one is it? I guess he realized that the Lakers are probably offering him the most $ after his horrible performance....
What a crock. He had every opportunity to give everything he had this series and he showed up for a game and a half. He was given a starting job he never earned and a green light he never deserved, could drive and shoot at will and he shot like crap. Sorry, he’s not worth what he thinks, he can hit the road. I have a bad feeling we are going to overpay what he’s worth to keep him because of lack of options though, very much like Rondo and KCP. Only Rondo actually showed up when it mattered.
Dennis really doesn't think 84 million/4 years isn't a fair deal? I honestly would lower that extension offer now, Alex Caruso is more important to retain.
We’d like you back too Dennis (in best Rob voice ) but “that” deal is no longer on the table. Here’s the money “now” based on the performance from you this year and the things you do well and the weaknesses in your game. As well it will be the coach’s decision as how best to utilize you, whether in the starting lineup or coming off the bench. Well then ... OK. We wish you well in free agency and on your next team, good bye and best wishes.
His value would’ve been so much better leading our 2nd unit off the bench. But he arrogantly refused to do so. Then he arrogantly turned down a 4 year 84 million extension. Please leave sir.
And on top of that, he made himself unavailable at the most critical time at the end of the regular season. He did not put the team first. He is not a starter. Good off the bench player to run your second team.
Was nowhere near the player after having to take all that time off, that he was prior with his particular set of strengths and weaknesses.
wait--you're all about team...NOW??? where was this when you weren't open to coming off the bench, or when you had to miss time because you couldn't follow rules? anyway, if he wants the 3/40 deal that the rest of the inconsistent role players get and he'll come off the bench behind the eagle, then sure, he can stay.
That's a fair value offer for his actual production, but I don't want him back even at that reduced price (which he would turn down anyway). The man slept walked through games 4-5 when we most needed a spark, and then suddenly in the SECOND HALF of the last game we were obviously going to lose, he suddenly decides to put out real effort. Nope.
Let's see what the sign and trade market has to offer. But he's not welcome back to this team. He can't shoot at a high rate, he can't pass at a high rate, he doesn't generate offense at a high rate alongside our stars. He was a poor fit all along who should've been the lead scorer off the bench. Our FO and coaching staff never really explored that.
