Whatever's going on between Vogel & Trez, Frank needs to get over it & give Harrell some PT, especially when we're down 2 Starters..
I love Frank, but he let us fans and media get in his head about not playing Trezz. The guy had 12 points, 3 rebounds in only 14 minutes in game 1. He also was one of the few Lakers who showed fight in game 1 too.
experiments that never worked in regular season, still experimenting....yes i know we have injuries but he experimented plenty in regular season n nothing really worked then either
I disagree, I don’t think he’s been bad. He managed to keep us at number one defensively when AD only played half the season and Lebron was out for 6 weeks. There are politics too from the FO where obviously both Schroder and Drummond were guaranteed starting jobs when neither one deserved it. His offense is not so good though admittedly. Overall we got to the playoffs and if AD hadn’t gotten the groin pull we would still be in contention and would have taken the Suns out in 6.
Vogel is a great coach. Look at how he was able to keep the Lakers the #1 defensive team even without AD+Bron. What killed the Lakers is the many injuries and COVID protocol... Lakers couldn't get a healthy roster all season with players in-and-out of the rotation. Lakers have to give Vogel a fair chance here... this was not his fault. Some players were simply a bad fit such as Trezz. That's more on Rob. I'm pretty sure if you ask Vogel, he would have preferred keeping Dwight+Javale+Rondo. What I will say is he needs to find someone to help him run the offense. Then again, J.Kidd is an assistant coach so I'm not sure what happened.
I lock him up long term. He's a great coach. He gets us playing elite D, even without our best defenders. He involves the players in the decision making process. Injuries f***ed us. It happens. If healthy, we take the Nets in 5...6 if Harden is given a game by the refs. I think he did the best he could with injuries, covid, no rest, no practice, and orders from the front office. We're not going to find better. He's the best we had since the Phil... you know, one of the two or three best to ever do it. After dealing with Brown, MDA, Scott and even Luke; I'd lock him up to a 10 year deal because those were some really nighmarish times.
He was terrible in this series . Should have started and played the whole game small . Not sure how he couldn't see it after the Game 5 disaster

Ayton was a non factor in Game 6 . Speed on both sides was the only way we could win this game . What's the score with no AD , Marc and Trez on the floor tonight ?
Seeing a few posts in defense of Vogel is a reminder of why I love this forum. I'm not even going to dare checking out Reddit, because I know they are probably going crazy calling for everyone's heads. And don't get me wrong, there are definitely some valid criticisms of Vogel to be had. But overall I really like him. I have to think our front office has the judgement to not overreact here and that Vogel has a lot of safety. Our lack of offensive continuity was always the fundamental problem on this team and there was nothing Vogel could do about that. I don't think there is ANY combination of rotations he could've used in this series that would've significantly changed the outcome given the injuries we had. He had us overachive for large stretches of the season defensively, and his calm demeanor and relatively minimal personality I think is a great fit for us.
He did a fantastic job with our defense in the regular season. He got outcoached and he made really poor rotation/lineup moves in the playoffs
his hands were tied all year, imo. schroder and drummond wouldn't have started if there wasn't an edict. i don't see why he hasn't earned more time. and yes, good lord do i remember the guys we had in this position post-phil... though i think luke got a raw deal in that everyone was expecting him to win with junk.
Vogel took the job when others passed and has made the best of the opportunity. I think he had some lapses but overall did a good job with a team that lost its best guys during large stretches of the season.
