Street clothes got one more title than you though.

People were sad when CP3 got injured but are making jokes when it's AD ...

yeah, they (and many laker fans) can eat one.

again, i've strained a groin. you can't play on it (not well). that's on top of what i'm certain is an unhealed achilles injury that likely started in last year's playoffs (which wrapped on OCTOBER 11).

chris paul gets injured every single year, and it's "poor chris paul". AD gets hurt and he's soft. ok. one of these dudes has delivered the goods.

where's the "soft" embiid commentary? streetclothes? stfu barkley, with your losin' a**. AD's already had a better, more successful career than you did.

AD’s groin injury will not be healed by next game. It’s not the kind of injury you can play on and it not get any worse.

Yeah I don’t think he should risk it by playing next game. If we can miraculously force a game 7 then maybe.

    He delivered us 1 title.

    I'm good with him.

    Just get healthy.

    This.

I am greedy and would have loved to go back to back, but I like to remember that there are franchises (Clippers) that have never won even one championship.
AD did that his first season here.

more importantly, he's under contract for 4 more years, and our viability depends on his health.

lebron also clearly isn't 100%. it's not our year. if we can pull out the next one or the series, and AD's groin seems better, mayyybe you consider it.

but let's not grant hill ourselves here. even if we get by phx, what are the odds we win three more rounds with our guys in this condition?

Very low. Honestly, even if they were both 90-95%, I still don't think we are making it all the way to the end due to our lack of chemistry. We won last season because of that chemistry. It cannot be understated how important it was. And with Brooklyn stacked to the brink, the only way we could beat them is if we had our chemistry locked in. Right now, we have no chemistry. Heck, watching Lebron dribble and dribble while no one moved makes me think our chemistry is a negative integer.

I think it's more pity than anything for CP3. The dude is at the tail end of his career and injuries during the playoffs have cost him championships over his career. As for AD, well, he's a Laker, so he's going to be a target for haters even though he's already achieved success that most NBA players can only dream of. I just hope he watches that clip over and over again as motivation for next season.

agree. how many lineups are we playing that have barely played together. watching lebron and wes jackie moon it last night was just rough. the play where drummond got an offensive board then through to a not-really-cutting lebron's feet was also prime "these guys have no idea how to play together" stuff.

Yeah, I saw the clips of him “working out” prior to Game 5. I think it was supposed to be encouraging, to give the optics that he’s good enough to give it a try and see if he could play... but to me it looked like he could barely walk.

I think this whole thing is a smokescreen to try to keep Phoenix on their toes, but internally everyone knows he’s out for an extended time period which means our season is a wrap soon. Might explain some of yesterday’s performance if dudes knew their efforts were futile. Lebron even said he’s gearing up for Game 6 under the assumption that AD will be out.

Really hope I’m wrong, that it truly was a minor strain that doesn’t carry much long term risk and he’s good to go in Game 6. Uses the fire from watching the blowout on the sidelines to lead us to a win.

But I think that’s a pipe dream at this point. What I’m really concerned about is if he lets all this talk about him being injury prone get to his head and he forces himself out there for Game 6 even though he’s not healthy. Hope the organization has the balls and judgement to not allow that.

Given the many flaws on our team and how it’s seeming unlikely we’d have the chemistry to win even if everyone was “healthy” (realistically, I don’t think it’s possible for them to get 100% based on the type of injuries they’re dealing with)... I almost do wonder if it would be in our best long-term interests if we got eliminated sooner rather than later. Maximize the length of the off-season rather than hobbling through another round or two.

i'm half-rooting for the exit at this point. the next injury might be one that cripples the entire franchise a la kobe's achilles injury in pursuit of 8th place.

    ^I'm pretty much there already.

This team has not displayed the kind of offense needed to win a championship and by that, I mean just shooting league average. Compound that with the fact that AD is hobbled at best. Meh stick a fork in it.

Better that than being soft. Right? GT was a joke last night. Still pissed.
