You know..I'm not trying to make excuses for guys, but I will point out one thing. These were the first real road playoff games for some of these guys. Especially with the crowd factor thrown in. This couldn't be simulated in the bubble. It's a bit of a downer, that the Staples Center won't be a packed house, but 7500 fans are better than 500. I thought the Suns picked up some energy from their crowd at times. It will be interesting to see how their young players, respond to playing in their first road playoff game tonight.
I like the rebounding effort tonight, but this is like the 3rd game in row where he can't hit anything. Several of shots were wide open too.
He's doing a lot of the little things. Nevertheless, he needs to start shooting better. Eventually, we are going to need his production.
Yeah. But proud of Kuz channeling his early game 7 Kobe vs C-bags crashing the boards to do his best to contribute any way he can. The expressions on his face let us know how he feels with the shooting slump.
Yeah, it's puzzling, really. Because he is trying and playing really hard. It's just... his shot seems completely broken for some reason. But then, so does KCP's, and he's an actual shooter.
Wish he just slowed down a bit: he's got driving lanes at times but when he's open he's just firing up the 3 right now. He's turned himself into a good passer so let the game come to him. Those aren't necessarily bad shots but when you're struggling try to get to the line Of course he also missed 4 bunnies on one possession so maybe it's just in his head
He did, absolutely. But he has to shoot better than 20% going forward. It's unacceptable especially if KCP misses any time.
2 full days to stay after practice and keep putting up shots. Where the hell is Penberthy in all these slumps. Wish he was as good at helping our shooters as Handy is in all the other skills. We see improvement with those younger guys. Mr Invisible, like Kidd and Hollins as far as any help on offense while Frank busts his balls on the defensive end.
I always like seeing guys find ways to contribute when they aren’t shooting well. I think his offense will come around.
Kuz is who he is at this point. He can go off any game and then dissapear. I don't expect any thing else from him. I am done waiting for consistency.
maybe game 4 is the game one of our role players hits some open threes to break the opponent's back? probably too much to ask. watching the mavs/clips series and seeing dorian finney smith, tim hardaway jr, reggie jackson, and marcus morris dropping timely threes has me a bit envious. we'd be up 3-0 with a couple stompings if we had anyone hitting outside of our big guns. i suppose being up 2-1 on the strength of good defense is good, too, but still...
He scored 20 or more points 12 times this season + one 30 pts game. If he gives us 12-14 with solid D and rebounding im ok with that. So far, he gave us 0, 2 and 8.
We need one of those 20 point performances in game 5, especially if AD can’t go. He’s certainly capable of it.
Kuzma per game averages 4 Games vs PHO MIN: 22:11 PTS: 5.25 FG: 1.75 FGA: 7.25 FG%: .241 3P: 0.75 3PA: 4 3P% .188 FT: 1 FTA 1 TRB: 4.5 DRB: 3.5 ORB: 1 AST: 1.75 BLK: 0.25 STL 0.25 Kid ain't exactly killing the stat lines, best % by far this series on overall shooting is 36%. Some good defensive sequences and some boards.
