Anthony Davis needs to accept he is an MVP at the 5. It's just what it is. Vogel needs to convince him once and for all to accept it. Lakers management needs to make him accept it. If they want him to play the 4 during the year to preserve him? Alright, I guess I'll buy that, but the Lakers need to have Pau Gasol talk to him and let him know it's ok to start at the 4, but when prime time happens during the season, he needs to play the 5. Lakers defense was suffocating with him at the 5.

He already said he’s OK with it in the playoffs as requested. Just doesn’t want to do it all year long. Same drill as last playoffs.

Ego and fear of the contact . Why would you want to get easy baskets at the rim or open shots out of the PNR/PNP when you can play like you think you're KD ( except you are from being him minus the last season playoffs).

Basketball isn't gymnastics , there is no point for style . A dunk and a contested midrange J are worth the same : 2 points .

AD's ego ( same for others players) won't allow him to accept this logic though.

    PS :

Coaches are responsible for this too . Vogel won't start AD at the 5 until we lose a game .

Why would you wait for losing a game to put in place something your opponent can't stop ?

    Will NEVER understand this too

    this is what gets me.

sort of like why do teams run isos exclusively at the ends of quarters and games, but generally not at any other time. it if it's the best play, run it all the time! if it's not, don't run it every time a quarter ends!

i get trying to get by during the regular season with AD not having to grind against heavier guys for 20-25mpg. but in the playoffs, just admit you're going that way from the start, and don't fall in holes.

AD would like to play a long career and if he plays center, he is likely going to have his career cut short. He has leg problems and cannot take the pounding so he has asked any team that wants him to play him at forward for most of the regular season.

Honestly, if that is what he wants, and Lebron has signed off on it, then that is the way it is going to be. I personally am thrilled to death to have him on the Lakers and figure we just have to learn how to play this way. He is worth the stipulation. Anyone who thinks we should play him at center full time, knowing he doesn't want this is a fool. Go root for the C Bags.

he's worth the stipulation in the regular season.

we'll see how people feel when we drop a game 1 because we played our centers, then go on to lose the series.

He's softer than Pau. A slap like that could ruin his fragile psyche.

AD+Bron got us a title, so no matter what happens in the future, us having AD was overall a good thing, but damn. I don't think AD can be the best player on a championship team. He goes silent too often. He seems disinterested for long stretches. He is just not a leader.

Not a good look, dude. Sure, AD won’t be stellar every night. But i feel as if Ayton outplayed him in terms of hustle and energy, which is unacceptable to be honest. Arguments against this: Suns were rested, Lakers tired etc. The latter won’t change. I hope AD takes it upon himself to personally win this matchup until the series end.

Said it before and will continue saying it again: AD can't lead a team. As soon as Bron goes out, this team tumbles apart. That would NEVER happen with Dirk, KG or Tim Duncan. So why does it keep happening with AD?

-Afraid of injuring or creating contact so he settles for mid-range jumpers.
-Doesn't even box out for rebounds because he's always sitting at the top of the key.
-Defense has been atrocious. Lakers were #1 defensively even without AD so their defense isn't just AD. But when you watch AD play defense, he's taken a step back from last season. He lets players get past him and tries to make up for it with a weak side block. That's not called DEFENSE... you're the last line of defense before the ball gets to the rim so why do you let players blow past you all the time?

He's got way too much talent but the problem is he's too afraid of getting hurt so he does the bare minimum. I can name 10 players who have played better than AD this season easily so if he wants to still be regarded as a top five player and the best BIG in the league, he needs to start proving it. Right now, I'll easily take Jokic or Embiid over AD.

A 36 year old man shouldn't have to be on the court for AD to dominate. He needs to start demanding the ball, get in the post, and mix it up. Constantly settling for jumpers is ridiculous. You're getting paid $40 million per year. If we wanted a big to shoot the ball, we would just call Andrea Bargnani. The hell are the Lakers paying you for?

    He was Aytons biatch 2night.

He was owned on both ends. He has forgotten about how to grab a f'in rebound. Looks slow and clunky. He had that "i got owned" face all night.

    :ADGlance:

Where was the fight? Where was the emotional leadership? Boy I miss Kobe.

He was pretty much useless. We were - 18 with this bum on the floor tonight.

My exact words. I miss Kobe because Kobe would've called AD right after the game and chewed him like the chihuahua he is.
AD is starting to become all bark, no woof. Says one thing to the media, plays the exact opposite.

Owned by frickin DeAndre Ayton... the same DeAndre Ayton who people have been calling soft even during his college days. Yet, Ayton outhustled, outrebounded, and outplayed AD. They had Ayton looking David Robinson out there.

    AD summary:
    -Can't rebound
-Thinks he can play like KD
    -Defense has been atrocious

But don't worry. He will get on Twitch to play some stupid video game. If Lakers don't win this season, I'm all up for the Lakers putting him on the trade block. First call, Hi, Portland. Will you give me Lillard for AD. Thank you.
