I second that. Would be very solid with those four. And would mean more time for each. I don’t think we need to either keep or necessarily replace DS. Let him go and keep the other guards.
Yeah, we got Dennis because we needed more penetration to the rim, but I’d rather bet that THT develops into that dependable (at least as dependable as Schroeder) after the next off season.
THT is already at 20 a lot better passer, seriously, with better floor vision. And is relentless getting to the rim. His shooting already shows flashes and he’s fearless about taking them at his young age.
I still think we need a backup PG with better handles and is a good facilitator. AC is a great fit next to Bron and THT is another year away from whatever he's going to be. Definitely don't need to sink DS money into it. My dream scenario is Rose, although Teague is more likely.
KCP has one thing that I give him credit for which is he comes big in big games more often than not. And he made 41% of his 3s (can't ask for more, certainly the best shooter on the team right now). Other than that he is a head scratcher...low IQ, selfish and kind of inconsistent. But I think his salary is OK for his production.
^IMO his overall D is slightly above average. I like his D and the hustle but I wouldn't qualify him as a great defender.
I love him playing within his role - hitting corner 3s, running on the break for an easy lay up, and perimeter d (especially the way he fights through screens). Don’t like him putting the ball on the floor, trying too many lob or entry passes, or shooting step backs. He has played well in his role in big games. Agreed. When he misses wide open 3s for stretches of games (scoring 3 points a game despite playing 28 mins), he really struggles to give positive minutes. Long way of saying I was wrong to call him a “negative player” if he saves his best for playoff games. He plays his role well often enough. [Cookie, you don’t need to say it, you were right about him, mostly, and DEFINITELY right about Dipo - I owe you money on that one].
KCP is a great defender against players who are his size or smaller. He's elite at chasing guys around picks and off ball. Where he gets hurt is against bigger guys who can post up Like against the Clippers he's excellent against George but Kawhii just bulldozes him. This is a problem for the lakers as on the whole both him and Caruso don't have the strength and length to keep guys like Leonard or Tobias Harris just using their strength to the their preferred spots and rising. This is where Wes and Kuzma really need to step up (Wes has to be enough of an offensive threat to stay on the court and Kuzma just need to keep playing smart)
More like KC0 tonight. Need more out of him on both sides of the court. When he's that off, give Wes more than 12 minutes and see if he can work his way into a rhythm.
Lol at KCP having the highest +/- with ZER0 4 1 1. I didn’t watch the game, how impactful was KCP in tonight’s result?
