yeah, all my "give up" talk is really directed at fans, as in: adjust your expectations based on the current data. the players and FO should always be trying to win. i really don't think they'll throw AD out there if they think it could get cause further damage to an existing injury.

give up on the season? thats a bit much and only time AD is 100% is probably off season and a gm or 2 into the season, hes injury prone, he has a history

it's a good thing non-100% AD is one of the 5 most valuable nba players, then, huh?

Exactly, I’m not trying to dismiss a back spasm or suggest he should fight through it if it’s still flaring up. If that’s the case, rest him. But I trust our front office and medical staff. If he’s good to go, then play him. To cite every minor injury he gets as “see he’s injury prone, shut him down!” just makes no sense and is honestly a laughable take.

Like if it was a long shot for us to even make the playoffs, I might be able to see the argument. But as it is right now, it still looks like we’re on pace to have our team healthy by the first round. So let’s give it a shot and see what happens. Having to go through the play-in would suck because of course flukes can happen, but come on, I don’t see us losing to Golden State and then also losing to Memphis or San Antonio. That’s what would have to happen for us to miss the playoffs as it stands right now.

Am I expecting us to repeat? Not exactly. Things aren’t looking great. We might still be banged up, we haven’t been able to develop chemistry. It would be a long shot.

But would it be impossible? Absolutely not. It’s totally plausible that the stars align and we match up with Denver in the first round (who I don’t see as a legitimate threat without Murray), and that serves as a good matchup to get into gear. Maybe the rest of the bracket shakes out in our favor, or maybe by then once we’re healthy we can defy the odds and flip the switch anyways.

    Back to AD’s back spasms:

This initially concerned me, wondered if citing the calf instead of the back spasm was a sign that yesterday was moreso about what he tweaked in the first quarter.

But now I see that they’ve been marking him as probable due to the calf strain ever since he’s returned.

That suggest to me he’s unscathed from what happened yesterday, the back is completely fine, and he’s as healthy as he’s been since his return.

So let’s roll the dice and see if he can lead us to stealing a big win in Portland.

To be fair I think most ankle sprains happen when you aren’t trying.

AD looked great and gave it his all. Game of the year for him. That's encouraging going forward. We're going to need THIS AD in the playoffs and play in, if we're going to have a chance. At least we know he can play at this level this season, current injuries and all.

Guy was a beast tonight. People said he had a decent game but I’ll take 12-23, and 12 rebounds all day long.

AD was phenomenal last night. Almost singlehandedly brought us back at the end with both his O and D. That block on Nurc was classic!

    Exactly.

If we get this AD for the remainder of the season with LBJ less than 100%, we're probably a second round team.

    That's being optimistic.

Despite the loss, this is the biggest positive. If he can get back to 30 most nights we still have a good chance this year.

Need Kuz and Dennis to step up. I think they will.
