Beat me to it, Cookie! I'll edit this post to write a little "scouting report" on him. So, what do we have here? Another 27-28 year old on our team. Ben is a (6-3) shooting guard who can play some very undersized 3 as well. He's not a PG. He does not score much, he shoots some threes, but he was never an elite shooter and therefore it is safe to say he's going to be shooting some low % on the Lakers (anti jinx activated). I mean, he has shows recently that he can hit them at the 40%+ clip, but I will believe it when I see it. Basically, he's more depth on the wing. He really struggled when the Kings tried to make him the point, because he simply can't do it. Eventually, everyone's favorite GM, Daryl Morey, realized McLemore can blossom with the Rockets when given the green light to shoot the ball. IMO, he blossomed in this role, and shoot it he did. That's all I got for now.
I..I guess he still has potential? He’s better than mckinnie at least. He’s got to get that shooting up though, 35.7% overall and 33% from 3 isn’t gonna cut it.
Basically, when you ask Wes is he's feeling it and he says no, you put in McLemore and get some offense that way. Or at least you hope to. I mean, OK signing considering there's not much left out there.
He was very good last season from 3, and I read he shot really well playing off Harden. My hope is that his percentages are so bad this season because Houston is absolute garbage, and that they’d go back up next to LeBron and AD, but we’ll see.
Another possibility: when Pope goes for his trademarked 0-4 start, you put Ben in and he's your new Pope. Same beautiful stroke, same erratic shooting.
Guess we got the memo that no one else is shaking loose before the deadline. He's better than McKinnie and we had to get perimeter depth. Hopefully his shot trends up and can dodge the Lakers curse.
lame. he's already been crap from 3 this season and now he'll literally be missing every single attempt could've done better
Call me an optimist, but I feel Mclemore will not shoot Mcleless from 3 with the Lakers. I have convinced myself he can contribute positively on this team. I hope he can light a fire under PCP our erratic and lethal shooter.
