I'm done. We don't agree and you're wrong. :D Not going to keep repeating myself. If your take is he is next to useless that is just a bad take, as stated above.

Let’s just remember: Marc hasn’t said a word. Maybe he’s dealing more with his own basketball mortality? The questions of him asking for a buyout started even before Drummond officially chose the Lakers. Maybe he is unhappy, but it’s pure conjecture that he’s going to cause problems in the locker room and I think we’re getting ahead of ourselves.

Marc hasn’t said anything yet, he declined to speak to the media. For all we know he doesn’t want to talk about having covid. I posted about chemistry being key and it not being good if he’s unhappy, but I didn’t mean we should buy him out or to assume he even is unhappy, we don’t know. Wes said he’s been a total pro.

Well. Then. OBVIOUSLY. He's gone. You think? Just like if Schroder wants 100M for 4 years.

Solid game from Gasol tonight. Sensational passing. 9 boards and 6 assists!

Definitely sounds like a player grappling with his own basketball mortality to me. These players have a lot of pride, that’s how they become great, hard to accept you’re not that guy anymore, but he’s absolutely still valuable to us

Damn straight. Keep Drummond fresh too. Let him play hard. If he gets in foul trouble bring Marc in while other team is still playing their big front court. Don’t expect Trez to handle the huge guys. Don’t do what happened against the Bucks.

Yeah we definitely need him. He's proven to be effective playing next to Lebron/AD. Can't same the same about Drummond. Not yet at least.

Drummond can "produce" his usual stats all he wants , he's not a better player impact wise than current Marc.

Marc knows it which explains his frustration.

WC, with all due respect - and you know I was one of Marc's biggest supporters here - there is just no way he has more impact on the game than the guy who literally scores and rebounds three (!) times as much. If nothing else, Drummonds gives you many second opportunities, and we all know how important that is for the team that can't really shoot from outside on a consistent basis.

What Marc knows is that he used to be an awesome player who has slowed down significantly, doesn't even jump anymore but mostly gets on his tiptoes to get rebounds, and is quite obviously overweight. His value is in his high IQ plays, great screens he sets and his passing. He gives us depth and a different skill set than Drummond. Also, if any of them gets hurt, we'd be screwed without a replacement. In this way you can always find the right guy for certain matchups in the playoffs, you don't have to worry about foul trouble, you don't have to force Trez to bang with the bigger centers and AD doesn't have to play the 5 except to close certain games.

As Weezy said, he's a "...player grappling with his own basketball mortality..." which we all understand. But if Dwight, who was a superstar in this league, accepted to come off the bench behind one JaVale McGee and even be glued to the bench in certain playoffs matchups, so can Marc. He's a role-player who comes off the bench now. So are Trez, Kuzma and many other guys, there's no shame in that.

Its tough to accept, but at this point in his career if he is able to accept his role there is certainly a spot for him to make legit contributions to this team even if he isn't playing as much as he is used to.
