We hit big on this one IMO!! If folks were missing Dwight, they should go and watch the Cleveland/Philly game in December, when Dwight had to start with Joel out. Drummond bullied Dwight all night in the paint putting up 24pts 14 rebs 3 assist 3 steals and 2 blocks. This kid has game!
We’re frick’n HUGE. Huger now that last year and so much more versatile. AD2 gets in foul trouble and other team still has their stud big guy in .... Marc can still come in and muscle with him and pull him outside if he’s hitting. Trezz Harrell off the bench for small ball totally different look center ... what a Dream for this coaching staff.
I get what you mean, but I have trouble thinking of Yao as "strong," considering how injury-prone he was.
Pretty solid dude. Seemed pretty intelligent and well spoken. Knows not to say stupid stuff. I like him. Probably going to be sad if we cannot find a way to resign him. But I will just let time deal with that.
Very excited with this signing and I can't wait for this year's Finals vs the Nets. It'll be an epic battle of size vs skill and grit vs finesse. I'm putting my money on the Lakers because when the game slows down, rebounding wins championships. And yeah, they soft. All three of them punks.
This guy hit a grand slam homerun at his presser. I’m pumped. If he commits to defending at an elite level like he says he will, we’re gonna be pretty daggum good.
Somebody help me out here. I have repeatedly seen it witten, some of everywhere, that Gasol is a better defender than Drummond. I have browsed the stats on NBA.COM and Basketball Reference.com. I looked at...blocks, steals, defensive rebounds, defensive impact ratings, defensive dash overall ratings, I don't see it as being even close between the two, Gasol isn't ahead in anything. What am I missing? Second thing can someone explain the defensive rating? I noticed the AD is rated 6th or 7th on this year's team. Going back to last season AD and Howard were ranked 184th and 186th! I don't get that one either. Montrez and Kuz are ranked 3rd and 9th this season, but neither is considered a good defender. I really need some insight on this stuff.
Nobody would ever argue these are the top five rebounders in NBA history, with Rodman being the only one who even warrants mention. So, all this tells us is that "Rebound PCT" is a largely meaningless stat.
Joel Embiid? BTW I'm liking this deal a lot. And my sentiment towards Lakers being bad at FTs doesn't just include centers... The Lakers as a team have been bottom feeders in 3 point shooting and FT shooting for like ever...we might have a few good FT shooters but those guys don't get to the line enough. I'm always worried we lose close games because we can't make free throws.
Can't be right when Wilt just gobbles 20 plus rebounds per game lol but he usually played the whole game so his rebound percentage might be skewed.
