Little worried. Since we were a THT away from sending him to Tampa. Does that mean we're far off on extension talks?
Yeah I'm worried because he's , at least , a little "me first" player . Could have an impact on his already dissapointing offensive production .
I’m not worried about it. He’s trying to earn a big contract so he only hurts himself if he doesn’t perform. And I’d also care more about him walking for nothing if all we gave up wasn’t Danny Green and a first I think.
Lakers were just looking for a better PG in Lowry. I like the way Dennis competes but he's not a very good passer and can't shoot . AD is clearly frustrated with him .
It's a shame it was Lowry or bust in terms of point guard alternatives this deadline. Typically there are more options and I think Rob would've pulled a plan B trade.
He's motivated with the goal of playing for the new contract. Lakers are leveraging on that right now
TBH he will have many suitors this offseason there are a handful of teams with plenty of capspace who would over pay to get him even if he doesn't get the job done this year.
if we some how manage to repeat with or without major contributions from DS, im fine letting him walk if price is 20M+ per on 4-5 yr deal.....save $ for ac/tht n buy some draft picks this upcoming draft, hope we can get a lowry type pg for the mle $
Yeah I’m not sold so far on Schroder for that price at all. Too much for a guy who has been inconsistent. I’d rather keep Trez, AC and THT and look for a vet PG if he needs $20 million plus a year. I like DS but not for that much.
Want to see more DS/Harrell pick and roll. It was highly fruitful early in the year. Not a fan of him dumping it off to Trez and then ball watching....hes not a shooter and he's not a slasher either so involve these 2 as much as you can. That's on the coaching staff
4 years 72 millions would be a fair contract imo ... but I'd prefer a better fit next to Bron and especially AD going forward . Could the Lakers make a sign and trade with Dennis in the summer ?
yeah, i think that offer has been extended and rejected. he better pick up his play if he doesn't want to get kcp'd on that.
Every game he gets and he beats the s*** (kicked) out of him(self). How many years can you play like that. How amazing was Allen Iverson in that regard?
crazy contracts don't surprise me, but I have a hard time thinking Rob will pay that amount for a player who is limited in his role. Very solid player, but do you need a more pass first/create first mentality with 2 mega stars on the roster? I think the overall take on DS is that he is a mediocre playmaker and has limited floor vision. Lebron covers for that, but if you don't have Lebron, is he the right guy to be PG for years to come? Not so sure. But I suppose it's all supply and demand. Can we get equivalent ability for less in someone who wants to be here? 20 mil is enough for a lifetime if you aren't wasteful and invest. He's more interested in top dollar and being woo'd rather than settling down and being happy with what he has. He may regret that decision someday when he ends up in a 3rd tier city fighting for recognition. But hey, that mansion in Memphis or Utah is SWEEET!
He seems to be "injuries free" judging by the number he played each season so far in his career... but yeah the biggest fear to have during this strech without Lebron is injuries to others players with the added responsabilities and crazy schedule more than the losses imo. Dennis is the first to come to mind with the way he plays
Schroder is only hurting his own value by acting like this. Win a title with the Lakers by playing well and you will get paid. Play bad and wet the bed, you will get the $18-20 million offer. The guy keeps bringing up fair. What does fair mean to him because right now, it looks unfair to pay him more than $20 million.
