    Any updates on AD?

If he is healthy I would feel a lot better about our title chances

it's bigger than that. i'd sit him for the playoffs if there was even a hint of a risk of major (achilles) injury. we'd be dooming ourselves for another 8-10 years if we broke him on purpose.

we can finish sixth and still terrify people this year. we can bow out in round 1 and still lace them up with lebron and AD next year.

the big risk is losing the 27 year old perennial all-nba player forever.

It was reported he started light shooting something like 10 days/ a week ago.

The article speculated he'll be back around March 20th

btw, i'd say the lakers are smart and know this, but they toyed with tearing his achilles over useless games in january, so i'm not as confident anymore.

Hopefully he'll spend another 7+ birthdays in a Lakers jersey.

Hopefully we'll get a better sense of the time line after he gets checked out tomorrow night.

Still seems way early considering the consequences if it’s not perfectly rehabbed. Weren’t there micro tears and damage at the cellular level and other scary sounding s*** like that? With the spike in today’s game it seems in achilles ruptures.

my dad and i have discussed this--it has to be changes in training methods, right? the achilles injury was fairly uncommon until recent years.

i fear that for AD to avoid it, he'll have to retrain his entire lower body. i hope i'm wrong--and i probably am--but the very least we can do is wait until he's fully pain free and then scale up his minutes slowly.

I was wondering if first steps with the push off .... more is being asked these days? But no, there's always been a premium on quickest of first steps.

well, yeah! i think people forgot he's an mvp level player because he's been banged up all year (and still outperforming almost every big in the league).

Just have to try to stay afloat for these two weeks. Not dip below 4th if possible.

if fans aren't in full attendance for the playoffs, i'm not sure it matters at all where we're seeded. i'd rather have AD and lebron fully healthy and finish 6th than fight tooth and nail for the 3 seed. second round opponent would be the same anyway.

The only thing that matters is that we finish top 6.

AD can't set a proper screen though as he doesn't make contact with the ballhander defender .

We DO miss the lobs when AD's defender is fronting him and AD is spinning off him .

Overall this connection isn't working very well as Dennis isn't a great passer .

The main thing I noticed is he struggles to pass out of the PNR when going middle.

AD will need his share of easy baskets in the playoffs , especially due to fact it remains to be seen if he'll be able to replicate the midrange clinic he put on in the 2020 postseason

another issue is that defenses really work to take away AD lobs (which opens the floor up for everyone else). i imagine it's easier to forget about jones.

AD actually does a really good job sniffing out easy buckets, in general, though.

and yes, wc, good screen setting is underrated.
