really makes up for a lack of lateral quickness with great technique--really shuffling his feet on those plays and not getting crossed up/turned, then he uses his length well to contest. he even finishes off by grabbing the board on a couple of those, which is pretty outstanding. george would have roasted prime scottie pippen in that game. those shots were ridiculous.
I prefer Kuz on Kawhi and KCP ( despite his lack of size) chasing PG13 through screens . Great players make great shots , sometimes there is nothing you can do about it
i like kuz on george more than kcp because george has proven he's very comfortable just walking kcp to a spot and shooting over him (like kawhi does to most people). the shots george was hitting in that game weren't the "walk to a spot and drop it over him" types. i like kcp chasing small guards, tbh. his size and speed bothers them. he struggles against taller and more physical players, i think. that's where you want kuz to shine. though in a lot of the clips above he's holding his own against smaller guys, too.
Only Laker who seems to be getting better each game. Felt that Vogel really should have pushed his minutes to 44+ tonight but I guess if your not Lebron then he doesn't want to risk wearing you out?
Kuz and Bron are amazing and playing the best ball of their careers. The rest of the guys... not so much. But it's so nice to see Kuzma continue to develop.
Kuz having discovered how to be a complete really good player with his size is such a deal now with his contract and an impact player. I’m still impressed how athletic he is now going after rebounds and he’s breaking out more of his old repertoire of offensive moves with the need in his starters role for more offense with AD out. This is good for most everyone not named James or Davis. But we’re going to lose more games of course.
He's going to get consideration for all defense team at this rate. Able to switch onto Butler and Bam. About the only positive out of the non AD and DS games is Kuzma
I don't even know if that's a bad or good thing. I've stated before that if he could play more consistently on offense while keeping the new-and-improved defense, he's probably the third best Lakers player. But it's also more of how underwhelming Schroder has been which is a bad thing for me. If I am Rob, I would not offer Schroder a $20 million contract anymore. I know the Lakers has his bird rights but if we were to judge him by last year being an A, he's like a C right now. Not bad but not really good as well. If we don't win a title and this is the same Schroder we get, I'd love the Lakers chances in free agency better than just re-signing Schroder. Also, Trezz needs some more touches. If our offense sucks, we should at least be able to give Trezz the ball and let him outwork the defender. He's been efficient scoring the ball so it makes no sense for him to get 6-8 touches per game only when we have doodoo offense out there. KCP not stepping up. Matthews taking 1-2 threes per game only. Caruso being pretty poor offensively. Gasol not contributing much because all he can really do right now is throw a pass from the elbow. Kieff has been garbage. Outside of Kuz and Bron, it hasn't been good for the Lakers lately.
Was it me or every loose ball and 50/50 ball went to the Suns: just don't see that happening with Kuzma out there. Plus he would have been a perfect counter to that stupid small ball lineup they ran out there with Saric at the 5 to end the game. They really put the Lakers into the spin cycle on the rotations with that lineup
I'm not really sure what I think about us having Kuzma as our leading rebounder in any game. Doesn't feel right.
