This was good to see if at least as an acknowledgement from Vogel.

    https://lakersnation.com/lakers-news-frank-vogel-always-concerned-lebron-james-minutes/2021/02/12/

The Los Angeles Lakers have endured a particularly exhausting week due to playing three straight overtime games. LeBron James clocked league-high 43.3 minutes per night during that span, prompting concerns over his health moving forward.

The four-time champion had to take on extra duties in the absence of Anthony Davis, who missed two of the three games due to an Achilles injury. Following the 114-113 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday, Lakers head coach Frank Vogel released James from his media responsibilities, saying it would give him “the rest necessary.”

“Obviously we’ll continue to evaluate how he’s feeling, his workload on a game-by-game basis, and make decisions on a game-by-game basis,” Vogel added.

The Lakers coach acknowledged that deploying James for more than 40 minutes in consecutive games wasn’t a desirable situation. However, Vogel noted his All-Star responded to the extra workload well. “There’s always concern, but his body has been felling good,” he said.

“These aren’t scripted plans to go to overtime each night and get him up to 40 minutes, but he’s going to be in there in those situations to win the game.”

Many expected James to ease into the 2020-21 season and even miss the campaign’s first few weeks. However, Vogel clarified shortly after Opening Night he wouldn’t place minute restrictions on the forward.

However, the coach later said James would be able to take a night off if he felt like his body needed some extra rest.

James reportedly enjoyed playing three straight overtime games
Despite the workload, Dennis Schroder claimed that James in fact relished the opportunity to play extended minutes in recent games. “He told me he liked it that he played three overtime games,” Schroder said.

“He said he’s got to get in shape and he’s liking it. Of course, everybody is going to be a little tired, but it’s always great to get the W.”

Age 36. Head meets the rim. Three OT games in a row but still shows up. Doesn't cry or complain about being tired. Unbelievable stuff. That tomahawk dunk came out of nowhere. I seriously think LeBron James knows where Wakanda is.

That flurry by Lebron at the end of the third was just INSANE!! And the exhortation of the imaginary crowd - so much fun! Unreal.

Have to give him big time props for signing with the Lakers in 2018 when they basically had a bunch of question marks on the roster. He stuck with them when Magic quit too. He's carried the franchise, much respect and credit is deserved for Lebron

James would have taken that 2018 squad to the playoffs.

yeah, people forget they started the season out strong and were in 4th at one point before all the injuries kicked in. i think they could've for sure snuck in as a 6-8 seed

High point at the time was when they were serving up some whoop-a** in Golden State before the injury.

Another reason why Embiid can't possibly be the MVP is because the Sixers are 3-5 vs Western Conference teams. They are beating down on the poor Wizards and very inferior teams. I mean, the Knicks are in the playoffs and outside of Randle, that team is horrible. The Knicks would not sniff the playoffs if they are in the Western Conference. They are playing garbage teams 2-3x each per season while almost every game the Lakers play will be against teams that would make the playoffs in the East.

Nuggets are 7th in the West right now. They have almost double the losses the Lakers have. Why is Jokic even a part of the discussion because if stats are all that matters, Kobe should have won in 05-06 but they give it to Nash who wasn't even ranked top ten in the league to me and probably was a borderline top 15 player.. Apparently, you don't have to be one of the best teams in the league anymore because LeBron would win according to that metric.

I mean who is even 4th in the MVP race? My money would be on Steph but they'll find an excuse to put KD, Kawhi, or Giannis in the race. LeBron is easily the MVP right now.

I'm actually a little excited for LBJ. I want him to play the 4 and pass out of the post to Kuzma, Harrell and the 3 guards. I'm curious to see what he and Vogel come up with.

Have him play the 5 in the all defense lineup: Lebron/Kuzma/THT/Matthews/Caruso. Would be funny to see all those guys switching everything

Lebron’s probably going Russell Crowe gladiator on you people :giggle: ..... are you not entertained?! 30 points 13 rebounds 7 assists, clutch shots and efficient shooting, more great passing (yeah ok with a bunch of turnovers but still) and broke out the killer new weapon he’s been working on and planning to use more often maybe with the 2 baby sky hooks ..... and not even an attaboy.
