Whether he realizes or not, he’s morphing into a younger Lemarcus Aldridge.

You guys are killing me. A few worse games and suddenly the guy who destroyed every opponent on the way to a championship just a couple months ago is the next Aldridge. You sure not even souped up?

I'm not happy with his recent play either, but let's keep some perspective here. We know what he's capable of, and he's been called soft last year too before the playoffs. We all know what happened after that and what he brings when it matters and he plays as the de facto center for large portions of his time on the court.

I'm fine with him and Bron coasting some during the season, especially the early part, especially as long as we are still winning. once they gel and Vogel works out the rotations, this team shuld be just fine. AD will be a beast when it matters, no doubt in my mind about it.

It’s a little frustrating not seeing him dominate, but he’s also seemed to have some nagging/lingering injuries and I’d rather see him take it a bit easier and stay healthy than get hurt.

some hot takes starting up here.

i like lebron's framing of the issue in that it's very positive. AD's bad at passing out of doubles, and i think everyone has decided that he needs to get better at it before another run at a title. and he is slowly improving at it, which is a bonus. without it, he was like, the second or third best player in the nba.

His shot just seems off: missing a lot of wide open midrange jumpers, open 3's, and FT's which he normally would hit in his sleep.

Probably just a shooting slump, I do like his passing. Having Marc Gasol around has had the side benefit of improving his ability to handle double teams which he sucked at last year

    Yes! So much ...... :This:

What have you done for us lately syndrome on LB. And people annoyed he doesn't feel the need to demonstrate he's not a wimp by going mano y mano all game long against the muscled up "Freak" in the paint. Seriously?

I think he’ll have a big game tonight in his hometown.

you guys seem to forget the 1. historically short offseason and 2. short training camp/almost non-existent preseason

not to mention its pretty obvious he and lebron have been in coast mode in many games. i'll start worrying if he's still shooting poorly and not playing well in the first round of the playoffs

Was good to see him command more post ups. He’s so so good on the block. There’s only one or two power forwards in the league that can guard him there.

this is what several of us tried to articulate during the trade discussions, falling on a few deaf ears with loud voices at the time.

    it's pretty amazing.

still annoyed that the one before should have been paul to us, too.

He needs to step up. He's taking soft fadeaways from 15 feet and he's not being aggressive out there or demanding the ball. Him/Schroder is not working

Schroder and AD/Trezz should be a monstrous combination but I'm not sure what's going on. I feel like AD is just preserving himself. He showed up in the playoffs despite playing through injuries so we know what we're getting from AD. Not that worried about AD, honestly. If he's healthy come playoffs time, no one wants to play against him.

Better show up against Embid because Drummond abused him. No Dwight to serve as backup either.

Feels like an MVP determining type coming up. Embid blows up AD and he may take charge of the narrative
