Goddam that’s some skill there. You nailed it with timing and anticipation. You don’t get that with reaction.

Schroder is a quick thinker out there. If there's a 50-50 loose ball, put your money on Schroder. It amazes me how he gets knocked around and just gets back up like he's immortal. And he can play so much better...

Shouldn't be on the floor in the clutch though.

He takes shots and rythm away from AD imo .

We'll need to figure it out

Great first quarter. Outscored the Warriors and was playing strong D against Curry. Then mostly crickets after his first sub.

I'm going to be honest, I think he's playing very poorly lately. Not gonna do well for him in free agency if he can't improve soon. If I'm the Lakers, I hold my offer and get someone else if he doesn't improve... I like him but the more I see AC and THT improve, the less incentive for the Lakers to splurge $23 million per season for Dennis.

I don't know but $23 million for Schroder isn't looking as attractive as it did two weeks ago. He's had a string of bad performances lately. His game vs the Warriors was basically the first quarter and after that, he completely disappeared for the rest of the game. I'm sure there are options across the board that Pelinka has drawn up. Trading Kuz is still an option as well.

i was hoping we'd extend him at his current contract, but that was clearly too optimistic. i don't think i'd offer the max extension, in any case, as i think it's unlikely he could fetch that on the open market--or close to it.

he's got a big role on a winning team for the first time in his career, and that team is basically the center of the nba universe and located in a nice place to live. if he doesn't want to take a bit less than his max to stay, i'm pretty sure we'll be willing to play out the year and see what happens.

i agree that trading him now isn't the right move, and i'm not sure we'd get something we could really use (i.e., a cost-controlled replacement) in return.

Objectively speaking, I really don’t think a team gives Schroeder 23 mill per. Based on his career play overall, I’d say he deserves around 13-16 million per year

i agree, but he turned that down already, so clearly that's not going to be it. i'm sure his agent has been doing the research. it's just that so many of the teams with cash next summer have guards in place. ny and dallas are big concerns, and both are teams that will spend. but 23 per for schroder? i don't see it.

i'm still hoping for 4/80 or lower, for the sake of the team's finances. i don't care about the buss's money, but i do care about some of the restrictions that the luxury tax/apron put on efforts to improve. we're going to have to pay 140 million just to keep the band together, and that's depending on kieff and marc gasol on the minimum and, for the latter, still playing.

anyway, good problems to have in terms of "too many good players to keep", but still going to be some interesting decisions.

He's definitely worth 20+ elsewhere, just not on the Lakers. He's clearly not a natural fit next to our stars, so it's interesting too see if they could build more chemistry. Right now, he's worth less than KCP (12m) or Kuzma (13m) given what he brings to our team.

The problem I see for him is that he doesn't have to be in the closing lineup as you have AC and KCP able to provide shooting defense and more size.

It will be interesting to see if the Lakers make a move at the trade deadline: packaging a guy like Kuzma and a guard to get a bigger wing like Lavine would be tempting as that is where the Lakers have a bigger need
