Great points: it's sad watching a guy like Blake Griffin now that his explosion is gone not be able to finish at all. I was worried the same would have to Lebron but he's using his strength to absorb or create contact to make up the lack of explosion

 

It's not sad. Blake chose to ride his athleticism until it ran out without advancing his game. It not only cost him now, it cost CP3 and the Clippers titles. It had him shipped to the the black hole of America, Detroit, where he is rotting in obscurity.

I do not relate to Lebron James much, however, in the last couple years, he has changed. He isn't flopping like he was and whining like he was when he was in Miami and Cleveland. I wonder if Kobe and the Lakers brass told him things run differently here or if the effect of fans in LA spray painting his murals had an effect. Either way, Lebron adjusted to it. The Lakers may be in Los Angeles, the city of snowflakes and fakes, but the sports side of it, the real community of LA, not the Hollywood wienies, they honor hard work and being real men and women. Lebron not load managing and being vocal about it and watching him give it his all against the Memphis Grizzlies in a January game showed me alot. I have mad respect for that. In the end, he will reap the benefits if he continues that and we should honor him for that effort. It already has brought Lakers nation a banner.

 

Gilbert Arenas is a troll outside of basketball but the guy has an incredibly high basketball IQ. There's a reason Kobe said Gilbert is wasting his talent away by being a clown on social media rather than being a coach. Gilbert would be a perfect scout/player development type of individual.

when he didn't go after oubre's dumb a** after his early attempts to dog lebron, i knew he wasn't up for the game. had some punk gotten in kobe's face/jersey like that from the tip, he'd have put the dude in his place. lebron half-assedly tried once on a post up, and when he didn't convert, he sort of didn't bother again. you've got to remind oubre he's junk.

 

I thought the 3 minute flurry to close the first half was going to be him flipping the switch for the 2nd half. Obviously didn't happen. I'm all for holding teammates accountable when KCP passed up the shot IF Bron looked himself in the mirror first. He was terrible last night.

He had no business taking that last shot. Given how his night went, I would've preferred any Laker but Trez take that 3 instead. And if we're including 2 point looks, then I give it to Trez over Bron, too.

 

I feel like I recently saw him discuss this. That he's aware that he wears his emotions on his sleeves and sometimes is too visibly frustrated with his teammates, but he's trying to work on it. I could be misremembering, I wish I could remember the details and look up the interview.

Because yeah, that was a bad look. But I trust that KCP has seen that before and Lebron tries to make amends for it. It wouldn't be difficult either to spin that into a positive, because the frustration did actually stem from Lebron being more confident in KCP hitting that shot than any of his teammates. "Sorry for getting heated, I just know that's your shot, so next time don't hesitate and pull the trigger because I have utmost confidence in you".

 

I'm not sure I agree with correlating Lebron having a bad night to KCP not making the right play.
