guessing opposing teams gear the gameplan around one more than the other, and i think you know that.

if you are correct, then i expect to find them at the bottom of the standings again, anyway, which was my point.

we can revisit it at halfway mark, and theyre gearing it toward Ingram (ive been watchinga gm here and there), he is the only player on the team capable of drawing attention from perimiter, Zion does need doubling but its not like hes Shaq yet, he is doubling his TOs to Asst

That's 100% the case. He even admitted to that either in the Finals or after, can't recall exactly when the interview was. But when Bron is out there doing his thing at 36, having ankles go sideways in multiple games and fixes it by tightening his shoe laces, you better have a damn good reason not to be able to go. It's the same way that AD got Bron to finally commit on defense for the entire season and post season.

But I imagine it's either a hangover (not the Harden kind) injury from the playoffs, a new one, or a mix. Hard to tell with someone who falls down or gets hit in the face 2x a game.

Vogel wouldn't have him out there in what have essentially been pre season games if it was a serious injury or one that could get worse.

He's able to coast out there and we still win more than we're losing while developing chemistry with the his new teammates. Not concerned.

    Learning from Marc

He's already a good enough passer. BUT If he can incorporate more and more of that in his game, and I don't think he'd really have the opportunity to showcase it while Marc and Bron are here, with his handles and speed... watch out!

if he learns how to efficiently defuse double teams with passes before his loses much athleticism, he'll be the mvp. it's his primary weakness as a player now. might be the only one, really.

NBA is different now. It's not like it was when Shaq was getting the ball in the post and stood there and waited for the slashers or the open men on the perimeter. If you notice, guys like Gasol and Jokic, they operate mostly at the top of the key. Too much athleticism and too much length to make that effective game in and game out near the rim in the post. Refs do not seem to call the illegal defense often even though you see it a lot during a game without the call. League would have to get rid of the zone again if they wanted bigs and better passing from the post.

right, but they still see doubles (well, jokic moreso than marc at this point) and need to know how to make defenses pay for loading up on them. AD gets taken out of games sometimes by well-deployed doubles. lebron and the coaching staff (and i guess marc now) clearly help him adjust in games (happened in the clipper game, iirc), but he needs to get to where he can do it himself on the first double. it took duncan a long time, too.

Started off pretty slow but man, did he finish well. 26 and 10, 50% shooting and AGAIN with the three steals and three blocks! Billy and Stu said he's already #9 of all time NBA with that stat: 43 times.

AD is my favorite player on this squad and I'm happy overall with his performances. Especially considering this is a short summer. When he gets going, his game is among my favorite players to watch ever. But the number of times he hits the deck is a little concerning. And when he slowly gets up it actually results in quite a few 4 on 5's. Bron and the others don't look impressed (or concerned) every time he goes down. The NBA is a in a very weird place when it comes to resting players, but I as a fan wouldn't mind seeing AD getting rest if it means he can avoid injury or play at a higher level.

Been going through this entire thread for some receipts. Savory lookin like a prophet, first comment was like the 2nd page of the thread, 2nd was within 20 pages or so.

It did, it did in fact destroy. :Pelinka Double Thumbs Up:

We did, we did get Cousins

And quotes like this make me laugh, being the one guy willing to be LeBron’s co-star got him a ring. Guess the other guys not willing shouldn’t have been such wusses

I'm also worried about him constantly falling and getting his ankle injured every other week. I'm not sure if it's his sneakers but I think he should consider wearing some high tops for more ankle support. Lakers can win games without Bron or AD so I don't see an urgent demand for those two to always be playing every game. I thought AD was just coasting and getting adjusted to his new teammates but I do think he's dealing with some sort of injury. The guy doesn't even try to block shots anymore.

    he's a tradeable asset

probably could get a decent return for him if we needed to. Probably even more if he shaved his forehead.
