The TMZ report published on Monday detailed a lawsuit filed by Johnny Wilkes alleging that Jerry West owed him $2.5 million for his role in helping the Clippers land Kawhi Leonard. The NBA, as reported, has deemed it concerning enough to investigate.

 

Boo. Think fun here. Will it to be true.

 

they'll get cleared, but i believe parts of this guy's story. i'm sure he asked for cash, one way or another, and was told he'd be taken care of. but that can mean different things to different people. so, will west be in trouble? no. but i do think it's nice for the league to investigate a non-laker tampering-type claim for a change.

i mean, they sent scouts to all of leonard's games the year before. just shameless. meanwhile, magic can't say he likes giannis's game or would like it if he were a laker.

Jokes aside, I can’t imagine Jerry West would be incompetent enough to leave a paper trail of evidence proving cap circumvention. I’d be very surprised if anything came from this.

 

I know there was some kind of fallout between us and Jerry, but why does he hate us again?

 

Absolutely.
I also think that audio may be the tip of the iceberg. A warning shot letting the Clippers know he kept records on everything.

 

Yeah I just actually listened to the full recording, and it’s more interesting than the “Lakers are a ****show” headline.

I’m more intrigued with West telling the guy he wants to meet in private and have a dinner so he can pay respects for all his help.

 

Just WOW Jerry. Ballmer's money bought so much media slant, not to mention your salary, that You believed or just took up the Clippers' company narrative that the Lakers were a "s*** show". And big thanks to Magic for that impression at that time. His vision I truly believe turned this franchise around with the start of it being him helping land LeBron James. But what he did with his no warning resignation and immediate comments and follow up comments ..... was pure sabotage out of spite.

Right. Definitely sounds like there was something going on there. We will see how legal it was.

 

I would think with Jerry's Laker for Life roots .... until these actions I guess .... this scandal with the L.A. and NBA press all over it has to be mortifying for him. Another of our Mt Lakermore legends dropped a big peg on the respectability scale. Sad. But effing love it bringing last year's Clippers dirty dealings to light if there's an email or phone or money trail to their .....



Well until Covid hit this is the kind of production the company I get to do large camera video gigs with 2-3 times a year can put on. Cameras, A/V trucks, audio, projection, LED walls .... all that. 8 straight L.A. Car Shows included until none this year until who knows when. Not one single booking. No one's doing the live events of course. They could have done the Bubble video walls and lighting and all that there.

But I just wanted to mention since I see the spectacular things they do in person sometimes that this is a great looking set above and AC DC was one of the most fun rock bands with great hooking songs and music and vocals ever IMO. I know @The Showtime Mamba has been posting some of their clips too.
