I can’t find a clip of my favorite shot he made last night. It was a layup, but he put it in sort of like an up and under, but it was this gliding move, and it was like he wasn’t even looking at the hoop as he put it in, it was smooth as hell. He’s definitely still raw though, hopefully he gets some time this year and continues to develop, the tools are there for sure for him to turn into a solid rotation player at the very least. Edit: found the move, 6:45 mark of this video
https://www.silverscreenandroll.com...cker-only-20-years-old-lakers-wesley-matthews That's crazy. Kawhi trying to recruit THT....
THT has a lot of work ahead of him. Let the poor kid develop. He's only 6'3. Despite the wingspan, he will still need to really use his body to get through the trees.
Sorry Kawhi at the Lakers we make G.O.A.T's but meanwhile at Snake Manor in Balmy Clipperville you make scape goats and ship them out to parts unknown.
He has IT and hasn't shied away from any opportunity, matchup, or moment. Definitely think he can have a really bright future in the league. It's all up to him and how much work he's willing to put in. It's a damn good start when you have the best player in the league singing your praises, when you have the full confidence of your coach, and when you have other stars like Kawhi asking about you. I think his driving ability will be his bread and butter and then his defensive versatility... in time.
I take back suggesting that we shouldn’t overreact to pre-season. Max extension for THT now! :Carusohearthands:
I hope he continues doing things off ball well...hitting 3s, rebounding, hustling, defense, etc. Schroder/Kuzma/THT/Harrell need the ball in their hands to be effective players. I hope they continue to work together and figure it out. It's a good problem to have. If guys need to sit out, we know we have guys on the bench who can give us production.. THT is a good find. Hope we nurture his talent
I'm in the "I've honestly seen enough of Kuzma to believe he will somehow become consistent" camp. THT has potential and I have more faith in him. I realize that's crazy but idc.
He's definitely got a bright future but man as a PG like this game he could be frightening. He's got the handle and vision for it: he'd be the rare PG where he could guard 1 to 3 on defense w/o giving up anything due to his freakish length
I have no idea how this carries over to the regular season, but if it’s true the kid is playing so well in practice that he’s forcing the coaches to give him time, that’s a luxury of a problem to have. At the very least it means we will be able to rest key guys in the long (even if shortened) regular season, whether that’s “load management”, or by splitting minutes up very evenly. Depth of this kind is a great problem to have. And yes, I’m sure teams will adjust to THT, he’s going to look raw sometimes because he is, but the kid has clear talent and we should hold onto him and continue to develop it. Ok, all that qualifying and tempered expectations crap out of the way, wow what a game from this kid, that was fun as hell to watch. He wasn’t just doing it against the Clippers bench, he was scoring on their starters and bothering Kawhi and PG on defense too with those arms. Some of the layups he makes are ridiculous, like that toss over the head and one, those arms are part of it, but he also has touch to make those. The threes, man if he adds that to his game in any consistent way, watch out, he’ll have Caruso, Matthews, Schroder all looking over their shoulders. Love his aggressiveness too, kid doesn’t care that it’s preseason he was making plays happen and forcing his way to the rim at will.
At the very least, he has made this preseason exciting... the same feeling we had years ago pre-LeBron, having a new rookie to look forward to, LOL except this time we're the best team in the league, and our young guy is actually really good immediately.
Ok, just talking talent level. THT is the third most talented player on this roster. Ima change his name to Talent - Horton Tucker.
