Really looking forward to Vogel's work with Trez and Schroder, I think he's thing to get another level out of each of them. Both have the ability to be strong defenders under the right system and tutelage. If he can unlock that in them, optimize our dozen lineup combos, and develop chemistry with this group as quickly as possible then it's over. We will steamroll. Regarding the staff...I hope Hollins is able to travel with us, I want him back on the bench and not just on Zoom meetings.
Hahahah. I strongly suggest reading the first page in this thread. It's quite hilarious. I remember thinking when the Lakers were looking at Ty Lue and Monty Williams, is this it? Monty would have been my choice between the two but even Monty isn't cut to be a Lakers head coach. He's a very determined guy who has his ways. Lue on the other hand got tummy aches during games. So when Vogel's name came up, I thought, well, the Lebron show is gonna be the offense no matter what scheme a coach brings, however Vogel's defensive skill set was enticing. As they say, the rest was history.... Lakers 3rd pick ended up being the best coaching hire for this team since Phil Jackson the first time.
That's what would make it different. More entertaining. Instead of the kiss a** BS or the Skip Bayless b******* hating trash. Legit backing for those you support. Show your skills in actually watching the games. Not sitting in a chair like Joy Taylor and saying Um every 5 seconds and telling the sports world how you feel about something. No one gives a s*** what you feel, back the info up.
Great stuff from Vogel. I like that he's a fan of Schroder's and he's saying all the right things. Doesn't know if he'll be a starter but will play a lot of minutes and will be an important player on the team. And he's stoked on Trez as well. So glad to have Vogel as HC.
I’m so glad we have Vogel as a coach. Says all the right things, players love him and he makes the right adjustments.
Vogel is awesome!!! He gives genuine, insightful interviews that are candid, honest, without a hint of cliche and are inspiring. What a gem. Forever in Ty Lue’s debt for passing on what the Lakers were offering. :Carusohearthands: :Carusohearthands:
I think possibly the only reason Lue was first choice is because it made sense with his and LeBron's past history. And how good of LeBron to not get his nose out of joint at that time when the whole media world was piling on the Lakers front office.
We dodged a bullet with Lue. Vogel is about as good as a coach we could have gotten under the circumstances.
