I don’t know why, but the line “Davis has been looking at spreadsheets” is hilarious

smart to time the opt out for when you expect an influx of cash to the league. now might be a bad time. he might opt for more guaranteed years if he thinks the economy will crash.

He just wants to chill ... Can't believe we traded our future for a lazy player who isn't hungry anymore after only winning one title .

    SHIP HIS a** OUT

It's nothing serious but all this drama for him to sign the contract proves how he's built. Looking at spreadsheets? He's the one deciding the structure?

I don't think we will be a winning franchise with him leading. Hope he continues n.2 for a long time

Not sure whether to laugh or cry at this comment. You literally couldn't be more wrong. How spoiled is this fan base to have the audacity to HOPE freaking AD remains a No. 2 for the Lakers? How many players in the NBA do you consider better than him? Don't even have to adjust for availability, just curious?

BTW, drama my a**, his camp made it clear he's going to stay very early into free agency, how does he dare take the time to choose the best option, right?

It's not his ability on the court. He is a beast, though I'm yet to see him playing full potential. He's a bit soft down the post and doesn't post to go towards the basket as much as he could. But he is ofc a unique talent that almost no team can defend apart from Giannis. And that is amazing and we are blessed to have him!

My take is more on his mentality and leadership. If you hear him talk, you don't see a leader. It's just plain as that. He also don't seem like someone you can rely on a tough matchup where the team is struggling and you need him to carry you to victory. That's why I think we will need a n.1 to win chips when we don't have LeBron

Of course I'm thrilled he is with us and it's so good to have him in the long run and be able to fight for championships. I'm just going a bit beyond on reading him.

He have signed now, I bet my post had something to do with it ahahahah

I mean, that was a hard pit, but I agree (and disagree).

We shouldn't be spoiled to the point where we ever expect AD to be our #2. That's beyond greedy.

BUT, to win rings... You kinda need that set up. Wade was a #2 to LBJ. Two of Klay/Steph/KD were "in the backseat" if you play "who is the #1 there". Even Kawhi made his new team gut themselves for another 2nd star. You need two of those guys on paper, but I agree it's spoiled as hell.

as i said over and over before and after we traded for AD: if he's not a "#1", then the league has like, two of those.

but he is. and he's here for the duration of his prime.

I agree that he is as well, but teams stack decks over and over. You just may need two 1's to win titles from now on. Raptors got lucky GS was so hurt.

And boom goes the dynamite. We are set for the next 4 years at the very least, good times folks, good times. The trade for AD was already worth it winning a title, but locking him in for 4 more years makes it a home run.

Klutch and the Lakers FO engaging in some gross levels of PDA (public displays of affection) right now, and I’m ALL here for it!

Such a welcome surprise to get AD under contract for at least 4 more years!
