Clipper fans are going to continue to try to convince themselves that it was Montrez and not the fact that your star player would only play when he felt like it, or your other star was soft mentally. It's like death. They are in the denial phase. If Montrez had actual character issues, Lebron wouldnt have allowed him on the team.
Harrell did the dirty work...the "stars" were treated like princesses who did not deliver when needed. One of them threw a fit throwing a bad pass he couldn't haul in because he only had three defenders draped on him. Yeah, sure he'd be pissed off.
Rockets ran a 6-4 center. Just saying in today's league, you don't have to be 7 foot. Plus he plays bigger than that with his motor.
He'll kill it for us this season. Yes, there is a concern with his defensive utility in the playoffs, but Frank can adjust. We've seen that. No biggie...
7'4 wingspan I looked for it immediately after seeing he is only actually 6'7. he has the same measurements as Ingram, but with muscled granite for a body lol like Wes Unseld
there should be no reason he isn't a plus defender for us: mobile, strong, lemph... Vogel is going to earn his keep this season for sure.
Phil Handy says hello too . I hope somebody will make a video explaining the reasons of his defensive limitations .
i was thinking harrell would come off the bench for javale? and then move him to PF when AD is out and the backup C comes in?
Here's my thoughts on the Trez vs. Ibaka talks and this is strictly from watching them without stats to support or invalidate. Strictly eyeball test... I think Ibaka is a better starter. He is a better starting contributor to a championship team. He was a great get by the Clippers, huge improvement over Zubac. I think Trez is a better more versatile fit on this team and can play in several different lineup combos. I keep harping on energy and resting Bron, Trez will allow us to do that better than Ibaka. He and Schroder will anchor the second unit, whether either start or not, that's going to be their main gig and they'll obviously share minutes with some of the starters because both are young and can shoulder heavy minutes. I don't think the Clipps can recreate what Lou/Trez had with Ibaka/Lou. Trez can ignite an offensive run and score in bunches, whereas I think Ibaka has a more deliberate pace to his game. With Ibaka, you know what you're getting. His ceiling has been reached, he can probably maintain his current level for 2-3 more seasons, then he'll start to dip. Trez is entering his prime and I don't think his potential has been truly tapped into and I think he can really grow defensively with Vogel and Handy. His coaches have been McHale, D'Antoni, and Doc. MDA is a laughing stock of the league, one of the knocks against Doc was that he wasn't developing the young guys, and McHale was a decent coach but nothing special. AD said the type of contract he signs depends on our roster construction. Rob has always involved he and Bron is roster moves. You think the fact that Trez and Schroder are 26-27 years old which lines up with building an AD team and gives him a couple dogs to run with after Bron retires is by accident? I like the pickup and prefer it to Ibaka for where we are and where we are going.
Montrezl is the better player but Ibaka is a better fit for championship contenders. That's about the only summary you need.
